Fun time off from work
« on: May 14, 2016, 05:00:04 am »
Have you taken time off from work to travel or relax at home, or do you prefer not to take time off? My mini vacation started yesterday at 12:30 and I will be off work until Wednesday. So far I have rented dvd's from the library, did some grocery shopping, housework, made phone calls to my doc and insurance companies. This morning, I am getting ready to wash my hair and clothes and watch tv. Any time away from work for me is a vacation, no matter what I am doing, unless I am sick. lol

Well I am a full time mom so I can't really take any time off. However when the kids are at school, I run to the store to get my groceries, take the mower into the shop for fixing, fill the car with petrol, pay my bills, do the washing and various other tasks which are completed more quickly when I don't have the kids around (including spending time on Fusion Cash!). Then when they come home from school, I help them with their homework, cook the dinner, wash the dishes and even in the evening when everyone is watching tv and relaxing in the chair, I am folding washing!

I would prefer to not have to work. I can always find better ways to occupy my time. But, alas, it is a necessary evil. I am rewarded by my family's happiness and that is enough to keep me working over eighty hours a week. I am scheduled off in late June in order to watch my son's out of state lacrosse tournament. I am also off labor day weekend for a three day concert. I had off one night this week and used it to catch up on sleep missed the previous two days because of work. I get small breaks through out the day so it isn't like being a prisoner. I walk my two dogs twice a day and can feel the sunshine on my face for twenty four minutes. I get five to ten minutes of time to watch YouTube videos on my phone before I go to bed at night.

I love taking time off from work. I feel like it also improves my work performance when I get back on the job too. It's very rejuvenating.

When I did work, all of my vacation, sick, and personal time was all for my disabled son and his various doctor appointments, now that I am a stay at home mom, for the most part I am with my youngest all day since she isn't in daycare.

I take as much time as I can.  I get three weeks vacation and we can also buy more vacation so I always buy extra vacation.  I like to travel when I go on vacation.

Most of my time off from work is spent working really hard here at home trying to take care of projects that needs to be done at home.  That list seems to be growing instead of shrinking.  : (  Not sure which place I work harder.
Home or my job that pays.  : (((
