So sad to hear and see photos about this...and very little coverage it seems....was categorized as one of the worst disasters since Sandy....

We never know what we'll have to face in the future. All we can do is pick up the pieces and thank God for life and family. My thoughts and prayers go out to those families in the midst of the flood! :rainbow:

If Louisiana is in a flood prone area, why people don't move to higher ground? What are they waiting for?

Agree, it is very sad.  The flooding is worse than it was with Katrina.  Wonder where the alleged President is with all this?  Oh yes, he went golfing.  I guess black lives don't matter if you live in Louisiana.

What's really sad too is that the government and most of the people it seems haven't learned from past experience! New Orleans and most of Louisiana floods repeatedly yet no steps are taken to prevent it or minimize damage. If I was from there, I'd either leave (as some did after a flood years ago), live on a house boat or be the first (apparently) to build a house on stilts. How many times do you want to rebuild your life and replace belongings anyhow??

I've seen this on the news. It's terrible what's been going on. Here in Southern California we are in a really bad drought and there has been wildfires going on and then in other parts of the country there is so much rain it's causing flooding.

i am a banker and i talked to a guy who was there and was a victim of the flooding. he said he was staying in a trailer while he builds his house and the trailer got a foot of water and the new house is raised coz he knew the area flooded but the new house got water damage too. he was saying that it was receding but he'll have to wait a few days to check the damage and see what needs to be done. poor guy.
