What kind of hobbies do you have?

Currently I do not have a lot of free time. But I enjoy paddling boarding in the lake in the Summer and playing hockey in the winter time. But I don't really have one hobby that I do year round.

I am an avid reader.  I love making scented candles and my favorite are DIY projects.

I like to garden and clean...even tho cleaning isn't really a hobby...but that's how I usually fill my days.

Recently for Christmas and anniversaries, and one particular "cheer up" instance, I've started making initial plaques with the last name initial. I did one for some friends for Christmas last year and they loved it. Then a friend was going through a difficult time, so I made one for her as a cheer up gift with her first name initial. I made one in April for my sister-in-law and her husband for their 1st anniversary, and one last week for my in-laws' anniversary.

I like to play Words with Friends, particularly with people from other countries I can chat with while playing, knit, crochet, read, do logic puzzles, and run for exercise.

I like to make things from things lying around. What I mean is, the other weekend I went camping in the most wonderful forest and there were pine cones lying all over the ground. They were large and very open, and it sparked an idea which I will surely have fun making. I am going to pull the needles off the pine cones and hot glue them in "shingle" fashion onto the roof of my bird house, so that it looks like my birdie house has been re-roofed, with pine shingles! All I will have to pay for is the glue sticks for my hot glue gun and the band aids I am likely to need once I have spiked myself a bzillion times!

Guess my summer hobby is our 2 antique cars.  Love going to the cars shows and meeting new people. That usually ends after Labor day and then I work on painting little village houses for Christmas during the winter months.

I used to crochet and loved doing it but the hands got very painful and I couldn't do more than an hour a day.

I started gardening, but can't do that anymore, either due to my leg.

I had started genealogy back in the mid-'90s, and that's what I spend time on now. I have over 7900 related names in one database and another 9000 in one that aren't related "yet."
