I'm a cord cutter here. I have been for two years. I use Free over the air tv, Netflix, Hulu and CBS All Access. I get all I need for less than $25 a month. I also have my parents directv login info for WatchESPN, NBC, ABC, HGTV, etc.

I have had both and they both have advantages and disadvantages.  Satellite has a better picture, but whenever the weather is bad it goes off all the time.

We never got cable, satellite or FIOS and just use an antenna for over-the-air transmissions. Some channels do poorly when it rains or is windy with that too.

We have been happy with Fibre Optics (even better than cable in my opinion) and use Netflix and an antenna, but thinking about trying Amazon Prime for all the other benefits that come with it too.

Have had both.  Before digital cable was available, satellite was better, but switched back to cable when they went digital and have never looked back. Bundling cable with telephone and Internet is a better deal for us.
