Whilst I realise this might be inconvenient for you, it really makes sense that the bank protect the cardholder, which in time will prove to be you! They are probably taking these steps because you couldn't get your telephone number right. Could that be because you gave them a different number originally? For instance, I once set up an account and used my phone number as my log in. When I later came back to use the account, I kept using my landline number instead of my cell phone number so I couldn't log in. It took me a while to work out what I was doing wrong. We all make mistakes.

i agree if you use the same number to activate your account you should have no probllem activating your account. I still have muy landline phone and i have had no problems with activating a card.

I have not had this problem and hope that I don't.  It sounds like it was a very frustrating situation and I would not want to have to deal with this problem.

Maybe sometime they use the number where you apply the card and if you use something else they would deny for you to verify.
