Beauty and the Beast
« on: November 14, 2016, 09:03:51 am »
The trailer for the new live-action version was released this morning. The animated version was the first movie I saw in a theater at 4 years old, and my inner 4 year old is so happy and excited today nearly 25 years later. I can't wait for March to get here.  :rose:

I saw it in theaters when I was 4 as well. I love that they kept the music, it always gave me chills. I'm so excited for this movie. Everything looks wonderful.

I didn't get to see it in theaters. I saw the trailer last year, well, they were still working things out because the one I saw still had all the numbers and stuff on it. Then I saw a comparison trailer shortly after that. I just saw another comparison one this morning. I also saw a few months ago, a completed trailer and I thought it looked identical to the original movie. I was hoping the beast was more beastly! But there is only so much you can do in it before you destroy what things are supposed to look like!

I didn't see the original Disney Beauty and the Beast in theaters... I think I saw it on VHS actually.  But boy does that era bring back memories.  I had a niece at the time who loved Belle.  She wanted to be here in every way.  And with her love for reading, dark wavy brown hair and dance skills she could have pulled it off if she were just smaller boned.

I like the nod to the original fairy tale in the trailer with Maurice getting caught picking the rose in the garden.
