My "Temp Job" is ending
« on: December 31, 2016, 10:59:07 pm »
I have been working a temp job for my current agency from April 2015 and ending Jan 6, 2017 if you consider working 40 plus hours a week with only 6 days off in that time, not including holidays and most being half days, a temp job.  I was suppose to be hired on full time after 90 days but the company I am working for merged with another and is relocating to NJ later in Jan. so everyone is losing their job but I get no severance or bonus for working there.  Don't worry I will be fine and take a break and collect UC until I find better opportunities which I'm sure there will be this year  8)

I have worked many jobs as a temp many years ago and I can't count the number of times I've had agencies say one thing but do another.  ::)

That's the life of a temp I guess!

Just keep filling out applications and put your resume on job sites. You will find something.

the agency will give you another temp job, won't they?
when I worked for a temp agency, I would get a call within a few days or a week of my previous temp job.
there was one I really loved and it was long term.
I blew it when I had a doctor's appointment and reported incorrectly.
three years is quite nice for a temp job.
usually they only last a few months.

Keep a positive attitude and keep looking for work with a company that is offering a "permanent" job.  Temp jobs are fine for getting job experience and if you want part-time or you just need some job for the time-being, but generally speaking, you need to look at positions that are being offered by a company that NEEDS to fill that position!
