Just canceled my landline service. I thought why am I paying this much on something I don't use. Now that it is gone I find myself needing a landline phone. I'll just work with the signal I can get from my smartphone.

I remember when I was in high school a friend of mine was dating a guy in another state.  Her parents didn't approve and they monitored there phone bills usage... so we would drive 1/2 an hour away to a pay phone.  She would bring $10 in quarters to call him.

Just cell for me. Trying to convince the parents to lose the landline and save the money, I guess you're always gonna like what you're used to.

I still have a land line. I'd rather that than a cell phone. I do have a cell phone, a plain Jane flip phone which I keep in my purse in case of emergencies when I'm out or when we lose power here. No one calls me anymore except my aunt and once in a while my son and, of course, charities and political organizations that want me to donate, or sales calls. But I have caller ID so...:)

My cell is on the bill as my hubby's. He uses his, but neither of us have text or data. My cell costs him $10 a month since I don't use it. His costs around $30 because he uses it.  Between the 2 of us, there may be 50 minutes a month on the bill and we have 1500 free minutes.

BTW, back in the day, my first phone number was 752J and was a 4-party line.  Glad those days are over.

I still have a landline but I think having a cellphone is a good idea when you are out and need to get in touch, lots of people abuse them

I still have a home phone that has four handsets around the house that are also portable and always available with voice mail backup. I have a smartphone, but it's not always on or can be left in airplane mode or out of range or even in my other pants or God Forbid LOST. My home phone only costs me $150 for two years with unlimited minutes anywhere in US or Canada, so I am not going to give it up. That means I can have a more affordable cellular service where I only pay an average of $30 a month for both my wife and I.

I still have a landline phone and I'm keeping it.My cell phone's voice coverage isn't very good in my neighborhood and it has dropped several calls lately,so at home I almost always use the landline.

When I started helping my son raise his four girls, I got a cell phone.  Gave up the land-line, and have not looked back.

I am constantly in touch with the girls, who have grown up, and we text many times daily or weekly, and even talk to my great-grandson (2 yrs) on cell phone.

Never want a home phone again.

I still have a landline at my house in VA.  My brother and sis-in-law are out in CA and they need a land line for all the areas where a mobile signal can't get through.  During the earthquake VA had a few years back the only connections getting through were landlines.  I am almost sorry all the payphones are gone since I'm left carrying a portable battery in my purse for my phone just in case the battery on it dies and I need it for an emergency phone call.

We haven't had a landline in a decade. Crazy to think about.
