For those of you who have been patiently waiting......

April, the giraffe finally had her baby.

I understand it's a boy.

Have you been patiently watching the live feed?

Have a great day!

I haven't been keeping up with the feed but I did see the news report on this yesterday.  What a beautiful baby and mommy.  They are absolutely gorgeous and yes, this has been one of the nicest, sweetest news report that I have seen in a while.   :)

I checked into the live feed periodically while April was in labor for the last month....
Yesterday was exciting to watch the birth.
Congratulations to April.

I have been watching and waiting, it was exciting to see.   Today there is a picture of the vet and some of the keepers with the baby on their facebook page.   He doesn't look real, looks like a giant stuffed animal.  Just the cutest ting.

I watched the feed on and off since so many others were watching I was curious. Luckily I did get see her give birth, what an amazing site, although it took her forever with those feet sticking out before the rest of the baby decided to make his appearance. LOL

I wish I had known about the live feed ahead of time.  I saw the report on the news but didn't know anything about April until after the event had happened. I did go check out the news about the birth, and it looks like mother and baby are doing splendidly.

I kept seeing the live feed off and on.  Then I was hooked to follow until the calf was born.  I began catching up on the news and discovered that this was April's fourth calf, but the first with Oliver.  The attending team was as much a part of the excitement as the birth itself.  They had to be exhausted at times, but stayed enthused right through the birth.  Dr. Tim pulled an 'Easter egg' prank on the viewing audience on his latest vet visit by producing a gold egg he 'found' in April's pen.  It was at this time the alert was out to stay tuned.

I  thought it was a great delivery, Amazing how long they have to carry before having it.  I am used to helping cows  have calves  and  dogs and cats.  But that  poor thing had a long drop. whew what a relife for  the mother though.
