i've been nursing my Runt after getting fixed
« on: April 25, 2017, 09:38:36 am »
She got fixed yesterday and she's not happy having to stay in a cage. We had to take her 35 miles to the vet and she meowed all the way there. When we picked her up, even though she was still sedated, she meowed halfway back. She meowed almost all night long. She's a little quiet now (12:35 in the afternoon) because she was awake most of the night, as was I because of checking on her. She has to stay in the cage for so many days and it's driving her crazy not to be free.

She is/was a feral cat that I can now say is no longer. She is very loving. We are down to the male and Runt now. The other females were socialized and tamed and got good loving homes.

BTW, speaking of the male - he knew something was up because he didn't show up for Sunday night dinner and we haven't seen him since. LOL  But, I found out what was eating the food at night...another feral!!!!! A real feral for sure. No...we don't want it hanging around.

Mine loved a wet cool cloth, but the neck cone was horrifying so I gave her neck message with cool cloth. Not a nice time for them so good luck mine loved snacks all the time. lol

Mine doesn't have an E-collar. They siad no sutures, either. Don't know how the surgery site stays closed if there are no sutures.  Going on the third day, she now will go into the smaller cage without a hassle while I clean the big one and put her food in there. One vet said she only needs to be in there for 48 hours, but my friend's vet said 7 days.  Don't know who to believe. She is using a litter box. I guess it's something most cats instinctively know.

I know she'll be a great house cat if Hubby lets me keep her in the house. i know he really likes her but he doesn't want any animals in the house anymore. I'll just have to wait and see.
