Retirement sounds pretty good to me..
I remember when my grandmother was trying to retire
each time she was ready to retire they raised the
retirement age..
Retirement is nice but .. i really don't understand how
people can retire and survive with the cost of living
always going up

I want to retire now and just relax and enjoy life from here on out, but the trouble is ... is that I am 39, I will have to work another 30 years just to have enough to enjoy life.

Hello! :D :)

Since I love being my own boss I doubt I will ever retired, my work is my life. The key to an early retirement is to get a job that works well with your life. :peace:

Got laid off when they outsourced and only had 3 year left to retirement.  Thought I would like it but getting bored with it.
Been applying for jobs but is harder when you get older.

There are a lot of people that retire at a young age. They save a lot of money and invest it, then retire when they reach FIRE

i quit in 2001 when my 1st granddaughter was born...wanted to keep her out of a nursery...i kept her and her sister for 12 years...then they started staying home for an hour by themselves until their mom got there...she worked 3 minutes up the road...now they are almost 16 and 13...

I have been retired for some time but I'm busy taking care of my mom.  It feels like a full time job with all the appointments but I'm glad I can do it.  The only thing I really miss is being able to go places spur of the moment.

I've been retired for 2 years.  I love it.  I now have the time to explore cooking new recipes, I'm gardening veggies and flowers and am just enjoying life.   I do a lot of work online, like FC, to earn some extra income and I adore being able to do it on my own schedule and work in comfy clothes.

I worked for 49 years and was forced into retirement kicking and dragging. I still am not happy being retired and keep looking for another job but who will hire a disabled 69-year-old?  I was self-employed PLUS worked a flexible full time job 14/7 plus holidays.

I take after my dad who always worked 2-3 jobs up until he died at age 75.  As a kid, I was always with him on the jobs as a milkman delivering mild at the crack of dawn, then a truck driver, for 2 different companies and helping out on the farm mowing hay, feeding the animals, you name it.

Retirement is not all it's cracked up to be. People forget about you after retirement. Those friends from your job have better things to do. Childhood friends die as do your family.

Enjoy life while you can. It gets depressing when you're retired.

Been retired  for 7 years and enjoy it, I still do substitute teaching which helps out and  just try to make it on the retirement plan I put in place, yes hard sometimes but I would not want to be back in the workforce full time, I  also do a lot of volunteering and enjoy making my own schedule; so hang in there and make a plan; good luck!!!

If you believe that you have to work that many more years to retire, then you are right.  If you think you can retire in just a few years, you are also right.
