It can help spread out the costs of presents if you do. I made my gift for my mom already because I got an offer to get it free if I just paid shipping. Luckily it is small because the down side of shopping early is that you have to keep the item somewhere until Dec. 25.

It's never too early....if you're in the mood to shop.  I'm not able to get enthused about Christmas when it's very hot outside in the middle of summer.

I usually don't start preparing for the holidays until October.

I don't think it is too early to do your Christmas shopping. It is better to be on the lookout for good deals on stuff during the year before Christmas so you get good buys when you shop. If you wait until Christmas it is a crap shoot on how much you will be paying for things.

I shop all year long. I pick up things I see that are applicable to most anyone and specific items for the people on my list when they are on sale. I also make a lot of gifts and I work on them all year round.

No it isn't in my opinion - there were years I couldn't even Christmas shop early or late due to late finances so I start now whenever I have the money and come across neat stuff.  Last year I shopped early.  This year am building a house so I can't concentrate on anything but all the stuff they keep asking for Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  Also we will need things for the house so I am just going to wait until we are all settled with the house.  Enjoy your Christmas shopping though !

It's never too early to start Christmas shopping ... when I see something that is at a good price and I have some extra cash I grab it and stash it away
