Basically, I made it back in the day! It was good then, somehow I don't care for it now. It's a great food to raise your kids on because it's quick and easy.

Years ago a old gal I was doing a pampered chef show for was making meatloaf before her guests arrived.  She had a teenage son and her family was hosting a foreign exchange student.  The foreign exchange student couldn't get enough of her meatloaf.  It smelled great as it was cooking.  She gave me the recipe.  I made it the night before Thanksgiving dinner.  On Thanksgiving my 2 kids whom were very young at the time were both sick... I certainly was not up to making a full spread for just myself and my then husband who would just pick at what I'd made and take off to taco bell.  That meatloaf was awesome... we ate on it for days.  Saved Thanksgiving that year.... and more to come.  It has mozzerella cheese and pizza sauce.  My Mom makes her meatloaf on the stovetop.  It's a huge burger.  My youngest daughters favorite meal.

I use the basic recipe with egg, onion, green pepper etc,  but use crushed Ritz crackers instead of bread crumbs or soda crackers and I use steak sauce instead of the ketchup or tomato sauce.

I love meatloaf.

Make my own seasoned bread crumbs adding herbs and celery, parsley, basil, oregano, chives I grew in the garden over the summer.

I use chili sauce instead of ketchup. It adds some zing. Use it inside and on top.

mmmmm, now I am hungry.
