Living paycheck to paycheck/Debts
« on: August 24, 2017, 04:30:54 am »
Living paycheck to paycheck is not fun at all. It does teach us  to budget our money and
cut back on extra expenses until things get better. I have been focusing on getting out of
Debt with what I have and have paid off two accounts so far.

Remember, we have 2 months per year where we get a third check.

Sounds like a plan to me.  Just start paying off the little debts and than work on the larger ones without going into more debts and you will be ok.

I have lived from paycheck to paycheck all of my adult life.  I have never felt like I was missing something because you can always make do with what you have.

I think that just about everyone lives pay check to pay check. A lot of people increase their expenses as they make more money thinking that they will always keep making more money. My wife makes a great income, I make an above average income off of two and a half jobs but my wife gets a new car every two to three years. She goes on trips at a ratio of five to my one. We have two expensive kids and two expensive dogs. Our home is larger than most and with that comes higher insurance rates. Because we work more to pay for nicer things we end up needing to hire out work that we could do ourselves (house cleaner and handy men). To make up for the stress of working more we go on vacations or go out to eat. It is a vicious circle

I live more survey site payment to survey site payment but same theory

I know alot of people that get paid on the 15th and 30th so they don't get those extra some months like those that get paid every two weeks

Been there done that. Concentrate on paying off the smaller debts first then tackle the large ones. That's what is working for me.

Sticking with a budget is key to managing debt.  Avoiding debt all together is more like it to me.  If I only knew then what I know now as far as money management.  Life happens and it can get expensive.  Although it's also possible to recover from.  Just takes time and discipline.  Once I figured out what I needed vs. what I had to have life not only became simpler but debts were knocked out one by one.

That's what we did, paid credit card bills and close it just left 1 in case of emergency basis.   Just buy  necessary things and you don't and you will be debt free. It requires self discipline and strong self control for not spending but at the end its a stress free life.

It's hard to live life with only a few dollars a month, bills pile up after you pay one bill, and then its like here comes another one, its frustrating, not having enough money to pay for the bills that comes in. Don't have money to last thru the month.

Hello!  :D :)

I know just how you feel, I've been working on my business and currently I'm not making that much money. It's definitely not fun living from paycheck to paycheck. Nonetheless you have to sacrifice now so that you can live the life that you want later. Best of luck to you in your endeavors. :rose: :angel11:

Me, too. Social Security doesn't go very far. Between the 2 of us, we live on $900 a month. My check stays in the bank to cover utilities and life and Part D health insurances, while part of his also covers Part D, food, vehicle tags and insurance, real estate taxes (due now).

Of all the trees in our yard, we haven't found the money tree yet. :(
