Ever had a rabbit for a pet?
« on: September 23, 2017, 09:24:35 am »
I never had a rabbit for a pet. I had a friend that do. I learned you can pottybox them. I also learned that they scream loudly when scared. They are so soft and cute. Sorry, but I love rabbit meat. I learned that real rabbit clothing and my pet cat did not go well with each other. Well anywho, Happy International Rabbit Day! Have a gr8 day  :present:

My parents raised rabbits in our backyard when I was a child and I got a live bunny in my Easter basket sometimes.

Then they just went outside to grow enough to be eaten, but I never thought about that at the time.  :bad:

My niece and nephew had one.  They would bring it with them every Christmas.  It was one that was litter box trained and did very well.  It would come out of it's cage and go to most anyone.  Well behaved and fun for the kids.  Never heard it scream.

Yes when I was a teenager I raised rabbits. Rabbit urine reeks! So not sure why anyone would want one in the house

I have never personally owned a rabbit but I did find a nest of babies in my yard. My cat was slowly stealing them from the best and eating them. It was very sad.

We had a rabbit named Hunny Bunny. Sweet little thing too. We would leave the top of his cage open and he would jump out onto the top of the recliner and just hang out.

I had alot of pet rabbits for years, growing up.  Some were kept in a pen outside.  Some of the small breeds were "house rabbits" (mini-lops, siamese, a dwarf hotot).  Had a pair of New Zealand bunnies, and a bunch of other breeds outside.  Never bred them, they were just great pets.  There was a couple of pet stores that kept getting in different bunny breeds and I kept adding them to my "collection".  (The siamese one came from a yard sale.) The ones indoors used a litterbox.  I even had one bunny that was born having only one ear.

Used to love planting them a "rabbit garden" every spring/summer and feeding them from it.  Bunnies are just so stinking adorable!!

I wanted a pet rabbit when I was a kid but my father was strictly against pets.  I have a cat now so no rabbits for me ^^

My son and daughter each had a rabbit when they were young. They were great pets. Used the litter box. Very soft and not noisy.

No, but my older siblings did, and when they were children they accidentally killed it by over feeding it lettuce. They didn't know any better and it was their first (and last) bunny. The rabbit wouldn't stop eating, so they fed it more and more. They thought the poor thing just had a huge appetite.
