Kirk Douglas died today.  He would have been 101 on December 9th.  For the younger generation, he was Michael Douglas’ father.  RIP you were a great actor!

I get that you need to get to 30 posts before New Years Day if you want your $3 bonus and that it takes time to read through all the other comments in a thread, but FOUR short posts in a row that correctly call this out as fake news and then another user who obviously didn't read anything but the original comment and immediately posts a reaction only in reply to that mistaken post?


I'm sorry. I know many are only trying to get their 30 posts in and don't bother to read what others have to say and that bothers me! It really stifles conversation on here to ignore everything everyone else says. 


As to your question, oldbuddy, I gotta believe it's all about clickbait and they have some sort of ad revenue if they can get people to click through attention grabbing FAKE news headlines.

WOW yougetpaid, that’s a little hostile.  I’m very sorry about my post, I heard the news and honestly didn’t mean to report something that was false. I usually don’t post things like this but believed the post and didn’t check it out.  I was only trying to give some information not get my 30 posts.  There are some people who only put smiley faces, question marks, etc on posts, and I’m sure you have seen those.  Again, sorry for the mistake I do apologize

Nancy, I beg your forgiveness.  My comment was NOT directed at you, but at the person directly above what I wrote. I do not fault you for the mistake. I was reacting to several other people who pointed out that Kirk was still alive and then someone else came along and just read what you thought was real news and reported, but did not bother to read all of the other comments RIGHT ABOVE THEIRS which would have clued them in that it was inaccurate...


I should have quoted that post, but instead I just put the ^ symbol = meaning I was referring to the post immediately before my own.   - I forget that the ^    ^^     ^^^ shorthand is used in another forum I participate in and not necessarily this one.

I don't think you did anything wrong other than not checking and you have nothing to apologize for.  If you believed it was true than I'm sure you had no intention of being misleading.  It was actually pretty rude of the commenter to just assume things.

I don't get what news outlets get out of publishing false A.K.A FAKE news.  It seems to come around the time an aging celebrity will be celebrating a birthday. 

Not directing this at you, Nancy5, but at the sources of this sort of "news".

Glad to hear it was false! Not a big fan of Douglas, but so many of the greats of yesteryear are leaving or have left us that not many are left, it's always reassuring that one is still here!
