Now that I'm retire I usually get 8.  I feel so much better with that I only got 5 to 6 hours when I worked.

I rarely get  more then 6 hours, I don't care how late I stay up I am up around 5-5:30, always have been. And I would love to be able to sleep in. Now hubby can sleep in every day if he didn't have to work. And he can take a nap of 1-3 hours and then go to bed  early. But he does get up for a couple of hours during the nap. Taking long naps  does not help. If I lay down for a nap I get about 20 minutes and  get up.

I probably get eight hours of sleep, but it is interrupted sleep.  I stay at my daughter's house to keep her two year old son and my bed is in the nursery.  My grandson will not sleep in his bed all night long.  He will wake up and come to get in the bed with me.  I also have to get up at sox to wake up my older two grandsons for school.

My sleep is all over the place because of a stomach problem I have. I really just sleep here and there. :BangHead:

I fall asleep at between 8-9 p.m., which is a holdover from when I worked) and wake up at 11:30 p.m. Then I'm awake until between 4-6 a.m. and fall asleep until 7 a.m. Sometimes I take a nap in the afternoon, but usually I just fall asleep at the computer for a "cat nap."  The more sleep I get, the more I want, so I stick with this schedule. I've tried being "normal" but it never worked.

Nobody is "normal" as it applies to anything. What works for you is what works for you.  :star:

I sleep pretty well most nights unless I talk to someone who talks about how they can't sleep. I'm highly suggestible.

I usually get at least 7 to 8 hours sleep. However it is broken sleep as I am a light sleeper and the least little noise outside wakes me.

    Sleep is a necessity...not a luxury.
    Quality sleep matters.
Sleep calms me down...makes me relax.
I feel better after I get enough sleep.

You should really sleep until your whole body  is rested and recovered  and in tip top shape but we don't live in a perfect world and you don't recover from everything in 7-8 hours.

I always 'slept more than normal'. My family always said I didn't need to sleep that much. Finally I came across a study showing an average of how much different age groups need to sleep. What was more important to me though was that they found two groups that didn't fit. the first group did better on very little sleep. 3-4 hours tops. The second group needed much more sleep. 9-12 hours. I've always needed more sleep and cannot function on normal sleep. 8 hours for me is like 4 hours for most people.

Working full time on an early shift its so hard to get 8 hours sleep everyday.  That's why during my days off just stay in a bed and trying to get that much sleep I needed.
