favorite conspiracy theory?

You don't have to believe it, you just have to have heard it. Mine is the 'fake moon landing.' I don't see how People in this day and age believe it, but they do. My neighbor still doesn't believe that Hitler is dead....

Roswell, NM and Area 51! (I know that they are two separate things, but they kinda go together). I haven't studied the theories in any real detail, but they are collectively my favorite.

I also do not believe the moon landing was real.  I don't believe they had the technology back then.  Why didn't they ever go back?

I kind of agree that many of our politicians are reptiles in disguise.

Only half joking here :)

My favorite conspiracy theory is also that Elvis is still alive, hiding out at Graceland. I guess he was such an iconic entertainer that people just don't want to believe he's dead. I feel sorry for his daughter every time the fake checkout lane "newspapers" say that he's been seen alive somewhere. I'm sure that opens up some very old wounds.  :(

There are a lot of folks who use the expression "conspiracy nut", or "conspiracy theorist" etc as a negative way to shut someone up.

Truth is, a "conspiracy" is simply when more than one person colludes with another to secretly accomplish something illegal or immoral, or both.

Believing someone pulled something off like this does not make you a conspiracy nut. That is to shut you up and throw you off track, and embarrass you into being quiet.

There are many things that happen where the facts as projected in the press etc don't fit. You are not crazy because you believe thee is "more to the story".

So many suspicious things like the JFK murder is out there, and they really have worked hard to make people feel foolish wondering.....I recall when it happened, and the official info on it, plus the original Zapruter (sp?) film BEFORE the editing....they don't match.

It got brushed off, officially dismissed, and the men behind the scenes are power political figures, and the men behind the scenes that fund them to do their bidding.

So, that is the conspiracy theory I have often wondered about. Well, it is only one of them I have wondered about.

I've often wondered why so many conspiracy theories with Elvis and why the family hasn't done more to prove he isn't alive.  Why such a "cover up"?  Surely they could prove he's dead (or not) without compromising his "safety" either way.   I don't believe he's in any "federal witness protection program" because his father wasn't (and he did go ahead & testify in court and still...no protection offered to him even though the family was receiving threats.)

If the conspiracy theories were hurting his family that much, they'd find a way to stop them.  Until they do, it just leaves the door open for any scammer to step up & lead others to believe they are Elvis.  Like that preacher in Benton, what a joke (feel really bad for those he's been scamming.)
