Not that I want to leave but it looks like I'm going to have to. As of 12/26/17 my family and I will be living out of our cars. Extended family doesn't want to take us in and other assistance is non-existent right now with it being Christmas. I've been sharing my go fund me page and posted a plea on youtube but it looks like the worse is going to happen. Anyway, even though I haven't talked to a lot of you one and one over the years I've gotten to know a little bit about all of you through your posts. It's sad to think about not being able to come on here anymore but I just wanted to say it's been fun and I'll miss you guys.

No one in your family can get a job any where? I am just curious. I see you still have the internet so I can't feel too sorry for you.  Yeah, not what you want to hear but it is the truth.  Do you have cable?  You can live in a house with no electricity.  At least you have shelter. Not sure how you came to where you are either being kicked out of your house for not making house payments or not paying rent but usually you have to be at least 3 months behind.  SO you should have quit this site and turned the internet off 3 months ago and put that money toward housing.

I don't know your situation but I just do not grasp how people who are a family can get to the point of being homeless.  And if no one in your family will take you in then I can only assume there is some reason.  If you were working and trying then I would think someone would help.  Usually the only time family turns their back and won't take someone in is if they are on drugs, drunks, or refuse to work and just looking for a hand out.  I know thru the holidays about all retail and places even gas stations are hiring.  If it was to the point of being homeless I would take what ever work was available.

Wow, thanks. I'm not going to go into details but it really isn't that black and white. Things aren't always simple in situations like this. That's all I'm going to say.

Didn't ask for details.  Like has been stated in other threads if you do not want the opinion of others then don't ask or post in a public place because not everyone will agree with you.  It is pretty much black and white.  I find it hard to believe that NO ONE in your family can get a job ANYWHERE. I have worked on jobs I absolutely hated.

And people need to learn the difference between a NEED and a WANT.  If you have the internet now then you can't be struggling too bad.  That or your priorities are screwed up.  When it comes down to having shelter or living in a car then you cut out everything extra.  Turn off the internet, cable, and all that stuff.  You eat peanut butter and ramen noodles.  If you have to live in a house with no electricity then you do that.  And yes, I have done that before.  I survived.  But at least I had a roof over my head.  Wasn't that big of a deal.

I have seen over and over where people have posted in threads like these about how they are fixing to be homeless but yet they still have cable tv and internet.  Cut that out and you will have an extra $200 to put toward rent or mortgage payments.  Just sayin.

I am just to the point that I do not feel sorry for people and I ask questions when people have sob stories and want money. There have been several on the internet lately begging for money and when you learn the truth it is a scam.  Heard one the other day.  The woman's story just didn't add up.  First you are disabled and you are hungry and you have no food and you have no money and blah blah.  But it is like wait, if you are disabled you are drawing a check off the government and you are drawing food stamps.  Where did that money go? And the more questions you ask the more you get silence and no answers.  And yes, if you expect a hand out these days you can expect questions.

McDonald's may not be the best job in the world but it is a pay check and you get a free meal when you are working. But most people snarl their face and say 'I ain't workin at McDonald's".  My response is then starve and live on the street.

Fast food places will hire just about anyone. I was just at KFC last night and they had a hiring sign, you start at $9.50 an hour, so Im guessing all fast food places pay about the same

I’m sorry to hear about your plight. :( I hope it is only a temporary inconvenience for you and your family. At least you are not going through it alone during hard times. It’s important to stick together. Hang in there and think positive. The suggestions from the FC members are worth taking. Eventually there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. You can always access the internet at your local public library. Take care!

Thanks everyone. Today's the day, not sure what's going to happen. Looked at tons of shelters but there's no guarantee of getting into one. However, we have found a cheap Airbnb by my mom's work that we can book once it's free on the 11th. After talking about it we SHOULD be able to swing that, have internet access to apply for assistance and look for jobs, shower, bed, etc... It's a little light at the end of tunnel.

So sorry for your problems.  It just breaks my heart this is happening to you and your family.  The holidays are rough as it is let alone being homeless.  I hope some good comes to you and your family soon and know you are not alone.  There are others with the same problem.  I wish you strength in this troubling time and pray you find a place very soon.

They are all different. And the pay you start at depends on where you live. That is not what they start at where I live. But you are right, they will hire anyone.  Sometimes you need to pass a drug test and not be a criminal.  But most times they will hire druggies with a criminal background. And if a person is desperate and fixing to be homeless they will take what ever job they can get. It IS that simple. And if people refuse to work then I do not feel sorry for them no matter what happens.

It breaks my heart to hear of these kind of problems.  This is not suppose to happen in the USA!  >:(

Why?  You do not even know the real story behind the problems.  I know people who are homeless because they refuse to work.  The problem with people in the USA today is they expect every thing to be handed to them.  Young people seem to think the world owes them something.  This world, the people around you, they don't owe you anything!  There are jobs out there.  It may not be what you want but there are jobs out there.  From the OPs comments there are at least 3 people living in the household.  Only the mother works.  The orig poster and her father need to get a job.  Fast food or whatever.  You are not above flipping burgers.  Nobody is.  The past few weeks every where was hiring for the Christmas season.  Even if it was a temp position.  If both of these people went to a temporary agency and signed up BOTH would most likely be working in a few days.  But you have to be willing to take whatever is available.  And if I were to the point of being homeless I think I would do about anything as long as it was legal. lol

I know a lot of people these days want to work "online".  I know a couple right now that are looking for work but say "I want to work online". Well that is just dandy. But the chances of you finding a full time job where you work completely online and from home are most likely not going to happen.  There are temp agencies in neighboring towns that have prob 100 jobs that they cannot fill.  People need to realize you take what ever job you can get and while working something you do not like you can keep looking for something better.

I have seen personally where people sit on their butt and cry about how they can't get a job (and refuse jobs daily because they don't want to do that) and then want a hand out for food, paying their electric bill, rent and everything else.  Attitudes like this are why so many people and churches and even organizations are getting more picky about who they help and how they help them.

Glad u see a little light at end of tunnel.Remember God makes sure the birds are fed.It doesnt hurt to bow your head in prayer and thank HIM with his name in Jesus name.

"That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth." "That people may know that you, whose name is JEHOVAH, you alone are the Most High over all the earth." ... "Let them know that thou alone, whose name is the LORD, art the Most High over all the earth."Psalm 83:18

Remember false gods have names. Why shouldnt the TRUE GOD have one?He told Moses his name and what it meant.

But Moses said to God: ‘Suppose I come to the sons of Israel in Egypt and say that God sent me. What if they ask me, “What is his name?” What shall I say?’ God told Moses to tell the sons of Israel: ‘Jehovah has sent me to you. Jehovah is my name forever.’ (Exodus 3:1-15) This shows that God was going to keep the name Jehovah. He would never change it. God wanted to be known by his name, Jehovah, forever.

So terribly sorry to hear about your demise. I had to live out of my car for several weeks, when I was seventeen, until I found a closet to sleep in at one of my three jobs. I was lucky that this happened in warmer months and managed to find affordable housing within about three months. I would focus my search on privately funded, charitable, housing projects as many of the Government aid is disappearing (got to build that wall) and deductions for assistance have been minimized. We had a rehabilitation center and two homeless assistance centers shut down within the last two weeks. These closings have put a heavier burden on our larger facilities. I just received notice of a work slow down and will be scrambling to cover lost income. Sadly this comes at a time when temperatures are hitting record lows. I hope that you live in a warmer part of the country and pray for you.

Hope you find help soon! Suggest look around your area for computer/iPhone access! I know there's free internet access at McDonald's, WalMart, public library, book stores, electronic stores, bar joints, restaurants,.......just being in the area you can get free internet access! There was a time when my internet access was cut off for a couple of months & I did business using WalMart & McDonald's free internet access to survive! So, never give up, never surrender! Good Luck!👍
