It's an easy way to lose a ton of money. Want (almost) guaranteed returns? Invest in the stock market. Want to lose all your money in a day? Try bitcoin.

From what I understand it is worthless.  It is just pretend money online.  It doesn't make sense to me either.

Far from it actually. In September I got paid from another PTC site in Bitcoin. PayPal was no longer an option, so I decided to try that option.  I got paid the equivalent of $20 and decided to 'buy' another $5 worth of Bitcoin.  I dumped another $45 into it in early December after cashing out from another site. That $70 is now worth about $160.

It could drop in value, that is true.  But it can also increase (it certainly has already).

Bottom line = I missed out by not finding Fusion Cash until 2015. I further missed out by not getting into Bitcoin until 2017. But both have still been good to me even as a Johnny-come-lately!  If you haven't gotten into Bitcoin simply because you don't understand it or are afraid of what you don't understand - the best thing to do is research it and find out more about it.  It IS real and it IS possible to earn some serious money in it.  But it is like investing in the stock market - it CAN drop in value as well - which is why I am not investing large sums, but only using online earnings.

I don't understand the more technical finer points myself, but the basics are pretty simple if you read up about it.  I recently blogged about the basics in a very watered down format and would be happy to share that with anyone who is interested.

My day time job strictly prohibits consumer's from using bitcoin, stating that it is a non-accepted digital currency when barring people from using the company services. I opened an account last summer, received my initial investment back plus a terrific return (from bitcoin and alternative crypto currencies) which has all been withdrawn with the exception of ten percent of the profit which I use to continue investing with. Bitcoin has become expensive (from a fee standpoint) to trade, somewhat slow to transfer, is not as fluid and somewhat easy to trace which makes it less desirable by the masses. Currencies like Ethereum and Lite coin seem to have corrected the previously mentioned problems (except traceability). Government treasuries are beginning to discuss creating their own digital currencies with higher stability factors.
