interesting topics
« on: January 09, 2018, 04:08:25 pm »
It's interesting to see the wide range of topics on here,  especially during the first half of the month when people are getting their 30 posts done.  I enjoy reading them and even replying to some.  Here's my interesting topic....What kind of pasta sauce do you like ???   I like Francesco Rinaldi (I tried others but don't like them as much) :monkey:

I like Oprah, that would be crazy though...  she should run for California Senator, we are in need of one.  That would be awesome :)

I like pasta noodles with fresh mushrooms, spinach, diced garlic and a little butter...  or fresh pesto

BEST sauce in the world, hands down, is the homemade stuff that my wife makes periodically.  I've been married for 12.5 years (and dated for a year plus before that) and I think I've only had store bought sauce twice in the last 14 years!  She said the rumor in her family (it was her mom's recipe before it passed down to my wife and her four sisters) was that people used to sip the warmed pasta sauce right out of a coffee mug by itself!  My plate is usually wiped clean when we have spaghetti for dinner!

I always make my own sauce.  Grew up eating homemade sauce (Italian family) so it's a tradition in my household to use homemade.

I don't have a favorite. they all taste the same to me from brand to brand. With that said, I don't use pasta sauce very often.

I used to use Prego but now I mostly buy Classico Four Cheese Alfredo Sauce.  It is really good!  They actually have several variations of Alfredo Sauce and I've used most of them.  Prego was always good to me but one of our daughters suggested we try the Classico and I've just stuck with it.

For  the most part I make homemade, but if I  am not feeling up to par I will take a canned sauce and then doctor it up to where it passes for homemade. By them selves they are pretty bland. When I make my sauce I always use  one of the crock pots and let it simmer all day. the house really smells like  pasta sauce but it really good.
