For those of you who live in areas where it snows, do you make snow cream and if you do would you be so kind to share how you make it.

My mom used to make it when we were kids with snow, milk, sugar and vanilla. I don't how much of each ingredient though.  I'm sure you could find a recipe on the internet.

If snow cream requires snow, where I live there's not a lot of snow. Bummer though, but that's ok. Plus I don't think I've ever had snow cream. I wonder now If it's any good!

I've never heard of people doing that. I guess maybe because I live where we only get snow maybe every 5 to 8 years. Sounds good though.

We make it with sweetened condensed milk and vanilla.   Don't follow a specific recipe, when it snows (which is rare for us) we put a bowl outside and let it get filled up.  Pour in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla and mix.  We do use our portable mixer because it gets it all mixed together quicker than trying to do it by hand.   I was just curious if others that do it have a different method.   For those of you who haven't tried it, if you get snow, try it, it's great, especially sitting in front of a fire.

I've never even heard of snow cream... but it sounds like it would be a lot of fun to enjoy with family during snow fall.

interesting, I would think it would be crystally, I know thats not a word. Kinda like when you leave ice cream in the freezer too long and it starts to get crystallized, yuck!

I remember making some as a kid once.  I wouldn't do it now.  Acid rain and acid snow and pollution and all of this.  Unless you live in a rural area away from the city and factories and industry where the air in cleaner.

Snows nice to look at when it's pure but unless you're in the wilderness I wouldn't eat it in this age.

I have had it once.  When my kids were babies a gal I grew up with brought the ingredients over and made it while visiting with us.  It was fun.  Tasty.  I don't remember saying to myself yum, can't wait to get more of this someday.  She said that she had gone somewhere and the snow tasted sweet.  Our snow wasn't as sweet.  So I think the purity of the air certainly plays a factor in the end result.
