I cut the cord back in 2007. Haven't gone back to it since.  I did use Netflix in the beginning - I dropped that when they announced it's price changes and haven't gone back since.  My husband thought I was sacrificing so much when he met me... Single mother of 3 with no t.v.  GASP! But now he too is done with the extra bill.  The cost of decent internet service is high enough - ... but at least with that we can make some extra $$$

I wish that my husband would let me cut the cable cord, but you know how men are when they come home from work. It would help our finances a great deal if he would at least drop some of the prime channels. :dog:

I'm saving more than $60 a month using DirecTV Now. I have an AT&T cell phone so it only costs me $10 a month. I get all my local channels, plus HBO. Pretty good deal. Now if only I could slim down my internet expense...

We've been on an outdoor digital antennae for several years.  Its mounted at the top of our chimney and worked really well for a while.  Now the reception comes and goes.  Possible squirrels have been chewing on it but we're too old to get up there and check on it. We have Netflix (our main source of TV entertainment, Roku and YouTube and sure don't miss the $100 + we were paying for Directv. We'll never go back to that.  Our digital antenna is not as nice as the pic you posted but I have heard ones like that pic work really well allowing you to pick up a lot of channels.  Good luck.

Antenna glitz up or freeze and you miss half of what you're trying to watch.   Hope they improve and more people will probably cut the cable cord.

we have amazon prime, firestick and roku...dont miss the cable bills

The only reason i'm hesitant to go this route is because my husband is absolutely clueless in technology. To change the channel he goes station by station, number by number, even though he could just up the page up or page down key. i have all his favorites marked and I have to make reminders for when his favorite programs come on or else he'll miss them.  He hates it when I fall asleep before he's ready for bed. :)

Dish and DirectTV is really too expensive.  I have Dish, but will have it disconnected.  I do this because every 2 months or so they are increasing the price for basically local channels.  Just fed up with all the companies cheating me financially.  I received an Electric bill that almost made me scream.  It's ridiculous.

We finally cut the cord on cable. We have a digital antenna for local channels and we also use sling tv, netflix and kodi. I am honestly still able to watch all of my favorite shows still.

My daughter has an antenna and gets several channels and is happy with it.  I have tried Directv Now and it would be good enough for me.  I am also using Setv and like it a lot more than Directv now.  I would be totally happy with set but my dad not so much and he lives in an addition to our house.  Set would save us a lot of money.  Our biggest problem is that the wifi in the dinning room, which has a TV, is not good.  We've always had trouble with the signal in that room so it doesn't work well in there and it's weak on my dad's side.

I haven't subscribed to cable in about 3 years. Netflix, Amazon Prime and Youtube work fine for me.
