IRS Calls

My husband got a call yesterday supposedly claiming to be from the IRS. The person had a heavy Indian accent and went as far to tell my husband two different amounts to pay. They even claimed they have taken a warrant out for his arrest. Well needless to say my husband put the person in their place and the person actually hung up on him. Has anyone gotten a call like this?

I did once and I told the guy off , then if you try and call back there is no such number, IRS never calls people  ever!

Yes, several times.  It's a scam and I hope most people know it.

I get so many!!! Thank goodness for cellphones and caller id. They usually leave messages and call 1-2 times a day. It is a scam.

So many scams out there.  We have  received the IRS  calls they got  down right nasty and said they would be sending the law.  told them to just go right ahead and send the law.  So far no more. But  sooner or later they will try it again. It has gotten to where I won't answer any calls unless they are in my  phonebook. Then sometimes I really don't want to talk to them.  A couple of people I know  will call about things I care nothing about  what they have to say because they are always gripping about one thing or another.

People are so low down with these scams. What's so sad is that they succeed with some people.

I have not, but know  people who have received, the IRS does not call ,clearly  these are scams and so annoying as are all of these tel marketing calls with their unidentifiable numbers!

I have got so many of those it’s not funny. Even when I don’t answer they leave a message.  I have tried calling back immediately, but I get a recording the number is not in service.  No sense blocking they always used different numbers.  Do not call list is useless.

Yes, I've gotten them. After about 3 of them, I let them go to my voice mail.  After 2-3 months, the called stopped.

The best phone scam is the one from Joe, Hannah, or whoever they feel might get through to you. As soon as you answer "yes" to the question "Can you hear me?"  the robot has your phone number and uses it to do with whatever they want. Joe stopped calling me now, but Hannah and Mike have started.

We get those all the times. But we must laugh at them when they say the IRS has 4 warrants PRESSED against me, or the same message for my husband. PRESSED?? Too funny! The IRS even put out a statement that they would never call you.

I get scam calls everyday  .. but none claiming to be from IRS

I get them all the time from the same person. One with an Indian accent. They said I could go to jail. I hung up and called my CPA and he said that it is a scam. He also said that the IRS will never ever call you at all. He said to just hang up on them. They are just trying to get you to give them money.

I haven't gotten any calls from the IRS lately but I sure have been bombarded with calls for health insurance.  I loaded Mr. Number on my phone and now it is blocking most of those calls.

I've gotten plenty of those fake IRS calls and other annoying scam calls.  As soon as you put their number in you do not call list, they call from a different number.
