I've never heard the description "fuzzy drink."  Honestly, I wouldn't have known what the heck they were talking about!  Here in Michigan, most of us use the term "pop."

It's a regional thing. In the US, the NW and midwest is generally POP, which is what I have always used. The NE and SW is typically soda. And then there's Coke...

I used to have family in Florida, and when I'd visit and ask for a Coke, they'd ask what kind (such as Mtn Dew or Sprite or Dr Pepper, etc). So apparently Coke is a general term for soda/pop. Lol!  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

We call it soft drinks or either we ask for what kind we want such as Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, Coke or Mountain Dew.

I say soda. “Pop” sounds a little silly to me in that case. For those who don’t understand “fuzzy drink” in the post from the OP, I think he/she means “fizzy drink.” That would be an easily made typo because the “I” and “U” keys on a QWERTY keyboard are right next to each other.

I call it  junk, but hubby calls it soda, so that is what I buy him. I wish he would quit drinking it . But that is not going to happen at his age. I have not touched it  in 60 years, Not since i was 15. Just quit it and never looked back at it.
