I have never leased a vehicle because when I buy I can get to a place of owning it and not having a payment once it is paid off.

My philosophy on cars is to not lease for the reason you stated and to buy a car 2-3 years old because it has depreciated the most by them.  I usually pay off a car in 3-4 years and then try and drive it payment free for another 3-4 years.  However, my present car is a 2007 I bought in 2010, paid off in 2013, and have been driving ever since.  I have very low mileage for the age of the car and recently took off the collision coverage.  My fingers are crossed because I am hoping to drive it until 2021!

I've never leased a car before and often wondered how that works.  So, I'm getting some information feedback here.  I'll read on to make a decision but think I've already decided buying a car is best from what I've read so far.

Its good if you don't drive very far every year and you like getting a new car every 2-3 years....covered under warranty and don't have to worry about repair costs that are expensive these days.

If you go over the allotted miles though they will charge you 25 cents per mile over at trade in!  :o

I have never leased, always purchased and take it to the dealer if it is something major; but not necessarily for oil change or minor repairs.
