Our king size waterbed is over 40 years old and still doing fine.

Not very often in years past because we were always short on cash over most of our marriage and now I am older and I can afford to get a mattress when I need one but I still would wait until it had a dent in it lol and I was afraid of rolling out at night.

I have had the same one for 20 years now. Mine is still fine. I guess it depends how durable it is.

I rather replace my old mattress to my new mattress because all matches could get messy and dirty and ripped up and stink and give the new one at they charge more money and stuff but I rather go buy a new one

I haven't ever replaced one for any other reason that to get a better one. That could be that mine has worn out or because with the older I get the more I value quality sleep, so I might upgrade.

My mattress was given to me used, so I am not sure how old it is. I have had it for 4 1/2 years and I am ready to let it go. It is not comfortable to sleep on anymore.

Replaced after 18 years because my daughter insisted I needed to although I didn't feel it needed it. Was still pretty firm. Not worn out. She seemed to think it was too old though.

Flipping it periodically helps with sleep, I'm going to treat myself to a luxury mattress this year, my body needs and deserves some quality sleep.

I do not know when was the last time I replaced my mattress. It hasn't given me any physical problems, so I do not see the need. But if I was forced to, I would probably replace it every 10 years.

My guess is about every 6 years or so... or until you start waking up with aches and pains!

I've had mine for 8 years-ish. It still feels very comfortable so I'm in no hurry to get a replacement.

I forget how old mine even is, but way older than the recommended 8 years. My back feels okay and they're so expensive... I don't see the point in replacing it just because.

I would say 9-12 years before I swap it out with a new one during those years I just flip my mattress.
