Doctors appointments
« on: January 09, 2019, 04:42:32 am »
When you schedule a doctors appointment, do you keep the appointment or do you cancel because you just do not want to go?

Sometimes I do not want to go, but I have gotten myself in a great habit to keep my appointments because I have health issues and I am getting older and slowing down.

Why make the appointment and then cancel because you "just do not want to go".  Why make the appointment if you do not NEED to go?  There are people who NEED to go to the doctor and if you do not NEED to go or intend to keep the appointment then don't waste their time or fill up slots that other people who NEED the time and will show up for the appointment could use.

I try to cancel as infrequently as possible. Always try to make my appointments.

I always make  my appointments as it  takes up to 3 months  to get another one. Those out of  town anyway. And I can not afford to miss one when I really  should be seeing her.

If I make an appointment, I always keep it.  If you make an appointment and then keep cancelling they will start charging for cancelled appointments.

I just don't go to the doctor that frequently in the first place. I'm pretty healthy overall, so it isn't necessary other than the fact that I have to renew my antidepressants every year. It's not like I want to go, but I feel so much better with the help from those meds.

I keep all my doctor appointments. The only way I would cancel is if an emergency came up and I could not make it.

I do not cancel appointments very often...only if an unavoidable emergency comes up.

Um, when I make a doctor's appointment, I usually attend, LOL. However, I try to live a very healthy lifestyle so I do not have to waste my time to see my doctor.

The only time I break an appointment is if something major happens.  Otherwise, when I make an appointment, I go to it.

Why wouldn't you want to go? Aside from the obvious discomfort - not wanting to get bad news, or embarrassment over your health or appearance or of the procedure/exam... That can give rise to more discomfort or anxiety, but is the alternative really a better situation?

There are some unforeseen situations where a person might need to cancel, but doing so just because I don't want to go seems a bit silly to me if I scheduled the appointment in the first place.

even though most of the time I hate going to doctors appointments I do try and keep them. The only reason i usually cancel is because of inclement weather i.e. snow when ice in New England ! :rose: :peace:

Hello! :D :)

For the most part, I go, but things happen that can make you miss an appointment. When That does happen I feel bad because I know they were expecting me. Which is why I go in general. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:
