another recall from Sunshine mills | TheCatSite

"another recall by Sunshine Mills. And this time it's not just 1 product that's involved — it's actually 3 different dog food brands that are affected. The 3 new dog foods, which may contain elevated aflatoxin levels (which can be deadly to pets), are: Family Pet Heartland Farms Paws Happy...

I agree with countrygirl12 the recalls are just ridiculous.  Seems like there is something new every day.  I wonder if there is any integrity in food production.  I mean there weren't recalls when I was young.

I hardly ever hear about recalls. I've probably used scores of products I should have returned but didn't. It's kind of scary to think of how many recalls there are out there we never hear about.

Cantaloupes Are Being Recalled From Meijer Grocery Stores Due To Salmonella Concerns

The cantaloupe in question is being sold as full melons or as pre-sliced fruit included in single serving packaging or fruit trays. Products were sold between September 26 and October 5 at Meijer stores in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. Whole cantaloupes with a sticker that labels them as "Kandy Brand" from Eagle Produce should not be consumed. If you purchased a whole cantaloupe from Meijer that does not have a sticker, consider it a part of the recall and dispose of it immediately.

A full list of labels and packaging numbers is published on the FDA website. If you have any of the voluntarily recalled products in your possession, do not consume it. Dispose of it or return it to your closest Meijer store for a full refund.

I'm not aware of this one.  I think there is a website that lists all the recalls.  Does anyone know what it is?

One of the nice things about shopping at a grocery store with a rewards card that tracks all if your purchases (not sure if they all do this, but Kroger does) - they notify you of any recalls that match items you have purchased in the past and actually add it of the bottom of your receipt for a certain length of time afterward once the recall is announced.

Of course that doesn't work if you buy something from a store where you don't have a membership card or if you don't scan it.

All grocery stores do not do this...unless you have to sign up for it.  I use to be signed up for something that emailed me any recalls but it was ridiculous and an extensive list and I unsubscribed from it. I had saw the dog food on Yahoo.  It has been all over the news.
