Beechnut just recalled rice cereal because it may contain arsenic.  Why???  We use the oatmeal for our grandson and I wonder what's in that.

I wish more FusionCash posters would contribute to this, I had another recall in mind for children, but I never got this one on the baby food (yet) :

Philips said after receiving a small number of patient complaints it was concerned that a type of foam used to dampen the machines’ sound may degrade into particles that are swallowed or inhaled by the user. These particles could cause headaches or breathing problems and might be carcinogenic, the company said, adding that gases released by the foam could also be harmful

The recall affects three million to four million machines, more than half of which are in the U.S., a company spokesman said Monday. About 80% are machines for aiding people with sleep apnea, a condition that causes a person to stop breathing for short periods during sleep. The rest are life-supporting mechanical ventilators.

McCormick recalls 3 seasonings over salmonella concerns

The impacted products were shipped in June and July to 32 states, Bermuda and Canada, according to the Hunt Valley, Maryland-based company. The states include: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and Wisconsin.




Those who purchased the products were urged to discard them in their container and to contact McCormick for a replacement or refund at (800) 635-2867 on weekdays between 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

LSG Sky Chefs Recalls Circle K Brand Chicken Salad Sandwich Because of Possible Health Risk


LSG Sky Chefs announced today that it is issuing a voluntary recall of its Chicken Salad Sandwich because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems

The company produces the Chicken Salad Sandwiches for Circle K stores in the Phoenix, Arizona and Southern California areas. All affected product produced by LSG Sky Chefs has already been pulled from Circle K stores. No other products or retailers are involved in this voluntary recall.

I haven't heard the recall, but agree that for many products I would just throw away if it's consumer products that are not too expensive.
