Coincidence or answered prayer?
« on: February 25, 2019, 09:30:55 pm »
Awhile back, I got interested in baking bread.  It was a little frustrating because most of the recipes I've found make anywhere from 2 to 4 loaves, and I only had one loaf pan.  I was baking either one loaf at a time, or using different sized pans.

One day, after it had taken almost all day to get the bread baked, and having to figure out how long the different sized loaves would take to bake, I said, "Lord, I really need some bread pans...and maybe a blender too, if you don't mind..."

A few days later, I had to go to the apartment complex office.  As I walked in, I noticed there were some things on the free table, so I walked over to check it out.  Sitting right on the end, there were 4 bread pans and a blender.

I'm a big believer in prayer.  :angel11: Some would have called that coincidence, but why not an answer to prayer.

Definitely answer to your prayer. Praise the Lord! What are the odds that both items would be there as a coincidence :present:

That's what I thought too.  Especially after the manager told me that several people had picked them up and then put them back.  It's like they were there waiting for me.  :)

I guess I don't ask in the right way or expecting too much.  I've never had a prayer answered. We might lose our house this year for back taxes. Just received a letter from the group that represents the school district and we have 30 days to pay up. We only owe last year's and we've already received the township taxes for this year (we were able to pay those last year).

How does 1 pray to a nameless god,NOT care what his will is and only pay mind to him when they are in need? And think they will be heard?

Sfreeman might lose his house and Paints gets bread pans.Pretty weird god id say.

I'm not praying to a nameless god.  Am I nameless to my children because they call me Mom?

“I have made your name manifest to the men you gave me out of the world. . . . I have made your name known to them and will make it known.”—JOHN 17:6, 26.

2 Corinthians 4:4
4  among whom the god of this system of things*a has blinded the minds of the unbelievers,b so that the illumination* of the glorious good news about the Christ, who is the image of God,c might not shine through.d

2 scriptures there referring to gods. The TRUE one and an imposter liar.Using his name as Jesus said identifies him as the TRUE God and Satan being referred to also as a god ,false as are many others.I am sure you are aware of how Jehovah felt about false worship.Greta examples in book of Exodus after HE saved them only to see them bow down to images. He was incensed to the point it cost many their lives.Jesus said it was the first commandment to LOVE and know Gods name and have NO other gods before him.The word god is a title as lord is.You are a woman also besides a mom but you have a name. The name Jehovah is Gods personal name.NO other gods existed before him.

I hope you are a better mom then most. There is a difference to Jehovah as who the TRUE God is.I dont think it matters too much with moms.

May i ask what is your gods name?Nothing wrong to praying to Jehovah and still using God or Father to  him.He knows in our heart if we are praying to HIM.But so many think just using god or lord is enuff.IT isnt if they dont know his name. Many claim to follow Jesus and he says he had made his name known and the first part of the Lords prayer says Gods name should be made holy.

Again, I am new to the Forum so I am not sure where I am in the conversation but we should not only pray when we are in need. Praying includes giving thanks, praying for others, praying for the world in general, praying for the beauty we are blessed to see every single day. It is called practicing your faith and it works. I have experienced it more times than I can count. What we want is not always best. God, by whatever name, will take care of it. We have free will but God knows best. (I do NOT attend church nor do I follow any religion.)

Would you like someone to call you OTHER then your name?

Isa 43:10-11 “You are my witnesses,”+ declares Jehovah,

“Yes, my servant whom I have chosen,+

So that you may know and have faith in me*

And understand that I am the same One.+

Before me no God was formed,

And after me there has been none.+

11 I—I am Jehovah,+ and besides me there is no savior.”+
