Like a few others on here, I haven't been to L.A in many years but I'm sure you'll have a great time! If you go to Dodger Stadium, don't eat the Farmer John Dodger dogs. I don't know what they're made of but play-doh probably tastes better!

The tourist places are fun (as mentioned already) Mann's Chinese theater, knots Berry farm and Disneyland (if you're rich, soon you'll have to provide your first born child to be admitted but cash and lots of it will do for now). Then there's tours of homes of the rich and famous, some have a spooky vibe since they're supposedly haunted. For more ghosts, take a tour of the Queen Mary!

Lastly, Venice Beach is a fun place to stroll through, always something "different" going on there. Relax, have fun, enjoy and don't tease the locals. They only understand words like dude, for sure and toobular anyway

The last trip I made to California was a weekend in San Diego.  It was not long enough, but I did make my way to the ocean!  I also enjoyed a day at the races at ol' Del Mar, the race track of many Hollywood celebs, built by a partnership including Bing Crosby, actors Pat O'Brien, Gary Cooper and Joe E. Brown, Charles S. Howard (Seabiscuit's owner) and Oliver Hardy (of comedy duo Laurel and Hardy).

I remember calling out to one of the jockeys riding that day in 2004 (Jon Court) reminding him of his early riding days at Louisiana Downs in Bossier City in the 1980s (he was fearless on sloppy tracks).  It makes me smile today because Jon Court was riding in this year's Kentucky Derby on #18 (Long Range Toddy) on a sloppy track; his mount was interfered and he lodged one of the two jockey's objections giving rise to the controversial outcome.

Ah, I digress, but I wish you a wonderful trip to California and suggest you travel the Pacific Coast Highway, if possible.

Do not forget to visit San Francisco-the old-fashioned City by the Bay and of course,
the traditional City of Sacramento-it all there in downtown Sacramento.
