Just one of those days
« on: May 25, 2019, 01:51:54 pm »
Have you ever felt that you would want to take a long dirt nap and wake up in a week or so?  :( just escape from life?....if so how do you snap out of it?

I don't think you can wake up from a dirt nap.  :o

I suffer from chronic depression, so when I get into those kind of moods, there's no snapping out of it. Exercise sometimes helps, but that's only if I can get up enough motivation to do it in the first place. I usually just have to ride it out.

I hope you feel better soon.

Used to never have them but here recently seem to be having more of them and it is mostly because hubby seems to be in a crabby mood more and more.  Some days  I think it would be better if I just  went to sleep and slept for 3-4 days before facing the world again. But what the  heck he would  even crabbier, yes I understand why he gets the way he does and it is  the worry about his prostate cancer.  But  if I find things to  do and  try not to think about  bad things, Maybe  things will get better  But have a feeling it is going to get worse as more time goes on.

Vicky my son in law just had a tumor taken out he had kidney cancer. He also has prostate cancer but his Dr told him that he would die from old age before the prostate cancer would get him. His Dr said that that is a very slow cancer and for him not to worry about that. His Dr was more concerned about the kidney cancer but they got that all out. Tell your hubby to hang in there.

I am grateful that I have not felt like a dirt nap in a long time.

Generally the fastest way I use is music.  I keep several playlists with certain things in mind such as trying to keep happy.  I listen to a lot of '80's music so the playlist is filled with things like Walking on Sunshine, Summer of '69, etc.  If I'm too in a mood and the music just sounds like noise I try to combat it the best way, with laughter.  I have a set of movies/cartoons that never fail to make me laugh.  I watch one of those.  By the end I am usually feeling a bit better.  If all else fails, I take a nap, recharge and wake up to start fresh, or a least with a bit brighter perspective of a matter.

There seem to be more and more people fighting depression.  I am not sure what the cause is.  I think a lot has to do with the foods and crap that is in the foods that we eat.  Spending too much time online.  Just life in general.

I would not mind that at all, I would just rent a hotel room and just relax and do my thing no care at all for me though.

I have felt that way before. Going to church helps with snapping out of that type of feeling. Going for a walk and being in the presence of nature also helps me too.
