I have depression and anxiety.  It happens.  Mine comes on for no reason sometimes.  I do my best to distract myself with anything I can get myself to do.

Have you ever felt that you would want to take a long dirt nap and wake up in a week or so?  :( just escape from life?....if so how do you snap out of it?

Hello!

Yes, I've felt like that from time to time. With everything I do online and offline I'm continuously busy and when I'm not working I'm thinking about bills that need to be paid. Yes, I definitely need a long nap so I can escape if only for a moment. We all need a bit of a break just to refresh our soul so we can see the brighter picture.

Thank you everyone, I don't think this weather is helping either. I mean 1 day it's cold then it's hot then cold again. And rain so much rain....you all are Awesome, HUGS

I think just about everyone has days like those at times in their life.  When I do, usually I just have to roll with it until the next day.  It can be surprising what 24 hours can change.  On the other hand, I have SADD, and in winter, those long, dark, cold days can last for almost a week sometimes.  When it's like that, it's not good!

Yeah, my depression's been kicking my butt lately. :( I'm also burned out because of school, but I'm hanging in there. Yeehaw.

I think 1imaginarygirl is giving you the best advice. If you just get out and exercise, you will probably feel like yourself again in no time. Maybe take a run or a jog for a couple miles. That usually perks me right up.

Yes I feel that a lot. I try to fight it by staying busy, spending time with loved ones, and going for walks. There are lots of things you can do but these are the main ones I do.

I'm sorry to hear you are not doing well and hope you feel better emotionally soon. You and your family will be in thoughts and prayers as others have said. Like 1imaginarygirl I suffer from chronic depression as well so what helps me is humor and keeping a light hearted mood. I try to watch comedies or go to sites that will make me laugh. Reading takes my mind off of how I'm feeling by imagining myself in the story and seeing how the characters act things out. Sometimes I take a walk when the weather allows and I practice smiling a lot. I heard smiling releases something in you that encourages your mood. I hope that helps.

When I start to feel a bit down I listen to uplifting music, pray and go volunteer to feed the homeless.  Doing something for others less fortunate always gives me a lift.  I also think of things I'm really grateful for because there is always someone worse off than I am.  Hope you feel better.

Yes, I have been there and know how it is to feel that way.
But I will just not do it because I have a lot of better things
do than just take a nap.

A short (no longer than 20 minutes) nap and a walk outside.

IF I was able to actually just go to sleep for a nap and was woke up 20 minutes later I would be mad.  That would just make me feel worse.  I have ever understood people saying taking  nap for even 5 to 10 minutes will make you feel better.  It certainly would not me.  Just makes me more tired.
