Braces on Teeth
« on: November 28, 2019, 11:26:04 am »
Does anyone have braces on their teeth or their kids or someone close in their family have braces?

Can a kid who has braces on their teeth eat Hershey's kisses candy?   ???

I don't see why someone with braces can't eat Hershey kisses. Just leave it in your mouth for a moment and it'll soften up.

It isn't for me.  I would not think it would be a problem.  Plain chocolate should not be a lot different than any other foods.  Long as it doesn't have the nuts or anything in it.

Both of my boys had braces when they were young teenagers.  My oldest one had a palate expander (widener) because he was forever sucking on his own shirt as a little boy.  They both came out with beautiful straight teeth and it was so worth it! And, yes, they were both able to eat Hershey's Kisses while they had their braces. The only things they couldn't have what extremely hard or sticky food, and no gum.  :peace:

I had braces an adult.  I still ate whatever.  Just make sure they brush well.

Yes. I had braces and could eat most foods as long as I brushed my teeth well.

I had the palate widener, too, because I sucked on my thumb as a child! Yes, I pretty much had to watch out for sticky and hard food.

I had braces for three years when I was a kid. You can still eat most things, as long as you're careful. Hershey's kisses are fine. Corn on the cob, not so much.  :)

I've just learned my Niece just had her braces removed & is now wearing retainers. She's been stuck with those braces for 2 years now. Chocolate candy, anything will be so hard to get out of their teeth with any kind of teeth cleaning equipment.

For anyone with braces, the best appliance to clean them is a WaterPik.  WaterPik's are indispensible if you are going to have braces for any amount of time at all. They are wonderful for either braces or tooth implants (if you have more than one implant).

Both my kids had braces for many years and they could eat things like Hershey's kisses candy just fine. At worst, you can just wait until these candies melt in your mouth if they should be bothering your braces, but I don't see why they would do that to begin with.

I had braces, but didn't dare eat popcorn, caramel, or chew gum, due to paranoia.
