How many like lamb?
« on: December 12, 2019, 09:01:48 am »
I grew up enjoying lamb on special occasions like Christmas, only to find out most of my friends and acquaintances have never tried it and think it sounds gross. Maybe it's an Italian thing. Do you ever have lamb?

Yes, we have lamb chops at least one or twice a month.  Good eating.

Yes we enjoy Lamb as often as possible and especially in Gyros for lunch. When we had acreage we raised lambs for meat, as well as a couple of pigs.

^beat me to the punch. I was going to say that I really enjoy gyros - which I think are often a combination of lamb and beef (I could be wrong), but I don't know that I've ever had lamb on its own as a meat course. I love gyros, but I wonder how much of that is from the seasoning as opposed to the meat itself. I mean, if I eat ground pork sausage it is kind of bland; but when I eat breakfast links or patties with pepper and sage and whatever else is in there - it is a party in my mouth!

We have lamb chops once in awhile, they are very pricey so I only buy if I can get on sale and that is not often.

I have never had lamb, though I wouldn't mind trying. It'll try just about anything once, and I've very rarely tasted a meat I didn't like. I just didn't grow up with anyone preparing lamb. And since I've been an adult, I've never really thought to prepare it myself. I'm not a big fan of wild meats, though. They always taste a little gamy to me.  :peace:

I have had lamb once in my life.  Rack of lamb.  I loved the taste was sort of disappointed in the size.  Must have been a young one.  I would love to go back to that restaurant and have that dish again.

Basically none. I guess those greek places may be my only chance of coming across it.

It's ok.  Haven't had it in a while.  To me it's a little bit of a let down because it smells so good when cooking it smells better than it tastes.

How sad. lol  I ate veal once.  I did not know what it was.  When I found out it was a "baby" cow I was like no way.  And never ate it again.
