Owie Owie
« on: December 20, 2019, 09:09:58 am »
Several days ago i was eating a caramel and actually Yea I know you guys felt like hearing this LOL broke my already bad tooth down to the gum line.  it actually didn't bother me at all well until I had it pulled yesterday.  It was like one of those cartoon pictures (but not funny) of the dentist with both her feet on the chair and pulling like crazy.  It was torture.  I wish I had taken better care of my teeth and I better hang on to what I have left or its mashed potato diet for me for the rest of my life.  I just always dreaded going to the dentist - it took me to now 66 to realize it is better than letting your teeth go.  Course we had many periods we were unable to afford to go.  So I guess it is what it is. Here is hoping no dentist trips right close to Christmas for any of you.

I don't mind going to the dentist.  I used to get a lot of cavities so I have plenty of fillings unfortunately.  I've been cavity free the last two years and I'm happy about that.

I was a dental hygienist for thirty years, and several times I was amazed to find out how well some people could still eat what they wanted, with very few or no teeth.  They usually had very hard bony ridges, and some tough gums!

Do not chew on hard foods.
      Try soft foods only.

The cost of dental work is so very expensive. You pay for insurance but that barely covers cost of dental work required. Important to take care of what you have.

Dental work is way to expensive, especially when they chip you teeth when you get them cleaned.

I know a guy who had to have all his teeth removed, but couldn't afford dentures at the time.  Eventually his gums healed and he could even eat potato chips.  Fortunately he now has dentures.

I have a friend who has no teeth....his gums have toughened up and he can eat most foods.  He does not like the feel of wearing dentures.

I won't eat caramel on a good day, let alone with bad teeth. They are a disaster on your teeth, IMO.  :-X
