I lost an eight year old Golden Retriever in July of last year. My son's dog was visiting until August but my nine year old Golden Retriever started showing signs of depression and loneliness in September. At the end of September I found a breeder that was having a litter of English Cream Retrievers and we pounced. He is now six months old, fifty pounds and doing great on training. Sadly we found out that our nine year old Golden Retriever has cancer after having a lump removed last week. She gets her stitches out on Saturday and starts chemotherapy on Monday with a seventy percent chance of her having another fifteen pain free months of life and love. We had started talking about getting a third Retriever prior to my Wife and Daughter going on vacation last week and I have a feeling that another puppy will be joining us within seven weeks.

My furbaby is of the feline variety. His name is Tinker, and he's orange and white.  :cat: I love dogs, too, but they take more commitment to take care of. To do it right you have to walk the dog or at least have a big, fenced in yard or just a lot of land, and I just don't have the energy anymore to do that. I love all dogs and cats, though!  :peace:

I am not an animal person.  Too much work for me and they are very expensive to care for.

I don't have a pet any more. I have had dogs for pets and where I live now it would be burdensome to have one here. Also after my last little maltese passed, it was so sad I can't go through that again. But I adore dogs, love to see pics of them and if I am out and the dog is friendly, I will pet them.

I have a 5-year old (almost 6) Newfie and a 13?-year old long-hair cat, both adopted. I am hoping to get another dog, but we are waiting until we buy a house. We never planned to get a small dog, but my giant dog loves the little ones the most, so we will probably make an exception if we find the right buddy for her.  :dog:
