I usually do basic exercises like running, jogging, push ups, and sit ups for my exercise. Workout videos on YouTube will definitely help.

Personal fitness is an everyday thing! Good weather will be here soon.
When the snow and ice are completely gone from your local sidewalks, put your sneakers on,       put some sunscreen on and wear your sunglasses and start brisk walking or even jogging.
If you like biking, just do it or visit your gym and use one. Start slow and increase your pace.
It is your health...it is your life!

Thank you for the motivation! Yes warm weather means more outdoor workout fun. Thanks for responding.

Working out to YouTube doesn't seem like a bad idea. I like that you can have the privacy of working out in your own home. I want to do yoga for beginners with YouTube but I know proper form is important for that.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Beginner videos do a pretty good job of explaining proper form and also modifications if you aren't flexible/strong enough to do the "full" version of the pose. A ton of people in the yoga boards I read recommend Adriene on YouTube. I follow along with her videos sometimes when I want to mix it up. She's not really my thing, but I can see why most people love her. For some reason, I find male instructors more calming. I like Andrew Sealy's videos.

I'd start with a beginner workout.  That's what I do when I haven't exercised in awhile.

My Dr suggested I workout to Youtube Videos and so far I have..for 2 days to be exact. I have been worn out, tired, and not motivated because I can't keep up with the others on youtube. I'm not extremely overweight, slightly but it's tough.

I've never used YouTube videos for working out, but I've ordered a couple of indoor walking videos and they come in really handy when the weather is too bad for walking outside.  The girl on my video keeps saying that if you are getting tired or can't keep up, the important thing is to keep moving.  If you exercise daily, you will be amazed at how your endurance improves, and how the moves get easier to accomplish.  Best wishes to you!

The nice thing about it (in my experience) is that after applying a little bit of will power to get through the first few days or weeks, it can easily become routine and habit forming to where you feel bad or upset when you MISS a workout. Outside of a few weeks due to a couple illnesses and one extended vacation away from home, I've been doing three times a week workouts since September of 1998 - about an hour each morning on the weight bench. I feel a lot better from it.

And I usually do at least 45 minutes a day just walking. Sometimes outside, but lately more often at the gym on a treadmill while my wife does some machine based exercises there.  Once again, if I miss a morning, I feel like I am totally out of sync.

My motto/mantra is Keep movin' and keep improvin'...

Start slow and keep at it! I've tried to find youtube workouts as well and they all move so fast, the person is already a bodybuilder and they speed through it summarizing what to do instead of showing you. They  make it hard.

work out at your own pace at modify ..so you cant keep up with the others..you will get stronger each day,, and before you you will realize you made it through the whole workout and kept up...good luck

Good advice, each day you will find that you are doing a little more with the videos and getting a little stronger, it may take a while but you are on the right track.   You go!

Working out can be a tough thing to actually start doing. To some its boring to others its a necessary life change. No easy way to really go about it unless you find other things to help you out. For me playing music helps the time pass and making that boring old work out come to life

It may be difficult, especially if it is not something that you are accustomed to (as I was ten years ago). However, my only advice to you is to keep pushing through, remain consistent, and find something (or someone) that motivates you to continue working out. Perhaps it would help if you could work out with someone that can keep you accountable.
