Any tips for NOT touching your face?
« on: March 30, 2020, 09:40:05 am »
I watched an excellent "everything you need to know about staying safe from the virus" video made by a doctor in New York.  The one thing that stood out the most for me was the number of times he stressed, "Don't touch your face!!!!!"  I have been having a hard time to reprogramming my brain.  I can now reach to scratch an itch on my face and catch myself with my hand in mid-air, about half the time.  He suggested wearing a mask at home to remind yourself NOT to touch your face.  It's unreal how many times I've caught myself either before or after.

I try not to touch my face.  I can't say how many times I almost scratch an itch or something.  Most times I try to grab a tissue so I can cover my hand.

If that's the case, then I'm screwed!  ;D I touch my face tens of times a day!

If you have been consistently washing your hands, I don't know why touching your face is such a problem.  :dontknow: Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I saw that same video.A friend sent link to me.David was his first name and Cornell was place.

Yes he emphasized keeping your hands clean and not touching your face.Wearing a mask helps not touch your face.

I also stress to build your immune system up and crowds for now.

It's impossible to continuously keep from touching your face. When I accidently touch, scratch, or rub my face, I usually have, alcohol hand sanitizer or hand wipes to clean my hands & whip my face after the incident happens.

I'm acne-prone, so I always try and not touch my face anyway.

The only way I can tell you how not to touch your face is to sit on your hands.  My hair keeps getting in my face.  Wish I had gotten a hair cut before the close downs.
Have a wonderful day!

I can't not touch my face.  I blow my nose a lot in the a.m.  I itch all the time also.  I really haven't concerned myself with it as I don't go any where to often.  I was my hands constantly.  My hands seem to be in dish water most of the day.

I keep tissue all over the house and in my car, which I try and grab if I have an itch; I also have a post it note  by my laptop and on my I-pad to try and help me to keep from touching my face; it is a hard thing as we are all having to re-program our brain to live in so many new ways!
