Stimulus Checks
« on: April 11, 2020, 06:20:36 pm »
There is a lot of misinformation on Youtube about whether or not SSI participants should go on the IRS Portal to put in their bank account information for them to receive payment. But wouldn't SSA share the info with the IRS seems they would be somewhat connected? People who have filed their taxes have already received the 1,200 or more because their info is in the system already. How can you file taxes when you haven't worked?
SSI and SSDI are different.

Hello! :) :D

I have heard a lot of different things as well not sure what is true or isn't. I'm self employed and I'm not sure if I will get a check or not. Furthermore I can't collect unemployment checks either. Needless to say I hope things go back to normal really soon. :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:  :rose:

There is a lot of misinformation on Fusion Cash as well.  Nobody has received the $1200 yet.  People who filed their taxes have not  received it yet.  They just now started releasing payments. The first round went out Saturday and those have not hit bank accounts yet.

Why would you not get a check?  Are you single and make over $99,000 a year?  Do you "work for yourself" and cheat the government by not turning anything in? Just work for cash?  Self employed people are still required to file taxes.  From things you have said in the past I don't know how this would even effect you.  Did you not say your job was working from home - online?  Maybe that was somebody else.

Yes i went on that IRS Portal and after putting in info, the next page needs you to put in info that you wouldn't have access to or even know so I cleared the entire screen. I will be phoning them tomorrow.

I have received an email from my Credit Union that my Stimulus check will hit my account on the 15th.  I also heard that the people that receives SSA $$ will get their checks next week or so.  And whoever does not have a direct deposit on record will get their paper checks in a few weeks.  There was some sort of confusion with the people who gets Social Security, they first said that they need it to file taxes to get their $$, but then they later clarified that they would based their payments on whatever is on the SSA records, so If you get your SS payment via direct deposit you will get your check in the next week or so.  If you get it some other way then you need to wait.

Where do you "hear" all this stuff?  Gossip around town?

I read online that people who are getting a paper check may not get it until August.  The IRS said they had sent out the first round of deposits (according to a story on yahoo) but I have not seen anything yet.  I talked to the bank and she said they expect to start seeing deposits this week.

There is no other way to get the money other than either a paper check or direct deposit.  And people who move every few months and do not file taxes because they are welfare bums may never get a check. lol  I don't listen to or believe what any random person says. I look for something official.  Then you still don't know if it is true or not.

No gossip in town I heard on 2 different news reports, my parents are both SS receivers and I wanted to know about when will they get their $$.  SSA has their direct deposit info and the government is going to deposit their $$ based on that information.  I understand that it will be on the second wave in the next couple of weeks.  The people that is getting paper checks will have to wait a few weeks to get it. But the IRS has a website were if you want your $$ to be direct deposit you can add your bank info there and they will process it.

I know that people who does not file taxes and people who owns Child support are not getting any.
