I have wondered about this, I know there have been several outbreaks in some meat plants. I am a little afraid of catching it. I don't think enough is known about it yet.

I don't worry about any food that I am going to cook above a certain temperature for awhile or any food that is going to remain frozen in my freezer for a 4 or 5 day period or more.

Since one is sure if you can or cannot I have been wiping all the package items down with a disinfection and washing any produce (as always) with soap and water before putting anything away

i not as concerned about the packaged meat but rather those who have touched the package since it left the plant. i wipe everything off before i put it away in my house.
i am also concerned that there will be a meat shortage since there are so many plant workers sick with the virus :rainbow: :rose: :peace:

"largest coronavirus hot spot in US" -- That Smithfield Foods is a China owned company.
Why would the US government allow a massive food production company to be purchased by China in the first place? America is so dumb. lol

There are so many people guessing what not to touch or being near.  Again I do understand.  Some people never wash their hands and that is nasty and filthy.

Just keep it safe and clean the item down and clean your hands when handling it.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/coronavirus-live-updates-symptomatic-hair-stylist-potentially-exposes/story?id=70845697

May 23, 2020 · A hair stylist in Springfield, Missouri, exposed as many as 91 people to coronavirus after working at a salon for eight days while symptomatic, health officials said Friday. The exposed include 84 Great Clips customers and, potentially, seven coworkers, said Clay Goddard, director of the Springfield-Greene County Health Department.
"Public health officials are warning of a possible second-wave of COVID-19 in late 2020, which would likely result in at least some states re-implementing stay-at-home orders to slow the spread of the virus, according to press reporting. Should this occur, we would expect a repeat of current responses, including additional incidents of hostility against these restrictions, some of which could result in violence targeting law enforcement or other individuals attempting to enforce the stay-at-home orders," according to the report.

There has already been at least one incident early this month. Officials said a sheriff's private information was published online by white supremacists who were angry about an arrest.

A Colorado man was arrested for encouraging people to illegally open-carry firearms at a planned "anti-shutdown protest," according to the report.

So are you suggesting they be tested every single day? Then you also need a qtip shoved up your nose every day.

You can test today and be negative and then the next day stop at the food mart and get exposed and be positive but think you are negative because you "got tested".  The fearful need to stay home. The rest of us are going to live our lives.

Reminds me of a Twilight Zone episode called,The Old man in the cave. After nuclear war the old  man told the survivors what food to eat if it wasnt radioactive. The old man was a computer in a cave. This episode aired around 1960 when comps were new.

1 guy listened. The rest died from bad advice like CG gives.
