Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Depends on the items on the receipt, but I usually hold onto them for a couple of months until I know I don't need them.

I do! I put them in a drawer and every few weeks or so I will throw away ones from like the grocery store or walmart. I will hold on to ones with big ticket purchases for awhile though.

I keep receipts long enough to take picture of them and upload them to seven sites that provide cash back or gift cards. Two of the sites pay fifty dollars or more, one site has averaged over two hundred dollars for the last three years and the other four have between forty to fifty dollars worth of gift cards. I tape receipts for items that I feel will not meet my expectations to the box that they come in and hold the box for two years. Big ticket items generally go on my credit cards for a month nd I am able to refer back to that statement if need be (I have not had to do so yet. Most places that I shop at recognize their merchandise (Costco, lowes to name a few) so holding on to receipts is not necessary. Expenses related to my business get photographed and saved to related software.

I have folders for this keepign reciepts so i can prove what i spend and where my money is going every year. I toss them once in ever three to four years. Also good to keep for a while if you have a warrantee on anything thats extended. Could save you boat loads of cash from having replace the product yourself

I save them for a while before throwing them out, except for expensive items, which I keep with the warrenty info.

I don't save receipts now as most of my transactions are online with readily available records if I need them later

Not really. Only for the two cents on Swagbucks, then I toss it.

I keep all of my receipts for at least a week. I belong to a few receipt scanning programs that give me points towards amazon and paypal . the bigger items I keep for at least a year in case  something happens to the product
