Got a haircut!
« on: July 11, 2020, 09:33:56 am »
I finally gave in and got my haircut.  I really needed one, but was very hesitant to get it done but I felt very safe they way they did it.  They strange thing was they wouldn’t wash it or dry it.  They were using a spray bottle.  That was fine with me, I had just taken a shower before so my hair was clean.

I was at my son's house when he had a lady friend over and she cut my hair in exchange for a Salmon dinner. She had experience doing it in College for extra cash and I had the Salmon in the freezer from my trip to Alaska last summer.

I had gotten a haircut at the end of January and was quite shaggy by May. I had to attend a funeral in May and did not want to look like a bum so I took a very cautious sixty five minutes to cut my own hair. It turned out great in my eyes. My family thought that I had gone to a barbershop so I guess I did okay. Two weeks ago I went in to a real barber and was pleasantly surprised at the precautions they took to keep exposure to a minimum. It felt so good to go back and be pampered again. I took my son as well. The girl said she had been cutting hair for groups of five or less outside at the park, for twenty dollars a pop, while waiting for the Government relief check(s) to come in. She was happy to be back at work and said she is still apprehensive-doesn't want to die for a few extra dollars.

I recently got my hair cut to. It felt so good after so long. It was safe where I went and very sterile so I was at ease.

Congratulations!  It is interesting that they didn't wash it or dry it... wonder why that is.  Did they wear a mask while cutting your hair? Did you have to wear one?    No one in my family has gotten their hair cut professionally since March.  Soon though.

Not sure why they wouldn’t wash or dry it.  They only allowed 3 people in at one time, stations were definitely 6 feet apart.  All hairdressers and clients were required to wear masks the entire time.

I cut and color my own hair. I also cut my husbands hair 3 times until finally the end of May he started going back to the salon. We live just over the border of SC, and they opened up before we did in NC.  They barber wears a mask, and they make my husband wear one also.

I have not got one yet but my husband has. It seems they are playing it as safe as possible here.

i can't believe it's been 2 months since i got my haircut. I had it done as soon as MA. reopened at the end of May. They had good procedures in place and i felt very safe. i still feel safe just not the best summer. However, the covid cases are still down here. :rainbow: :rose: :peace:
