Kids Toys

Are any of you familiar with the little dolls that are magnetic and you can change their clothes and the clothes stick to the doll.  Use to they were cardboard like and the clothes were paper and had the little flaps you fold over the doll to hold the clothes to them. All it says on the box is not for children under 3 because of small pieces.  Would you think it would be appropriate for a girl 6-7 years old?  Personally, I think it would be age appropriate.  Wondering what others think?

Oh my goodness! Your post brought Dolly Pops back to my mind! I used to play with paper dolls too, but they were fragile. I really loved Dolly Pops and Poptown. They were plastic with hair you could comb.

Here's an old 80s commercial: https://youtu.be/Qo-Iia8hN1g

Anyway, the magnetic dolls sound similar. I would think it would be age appropriate, but (disclaimer) I don't have kids.

Well I was going to get it for a kid that is a girl and 6 years old.  She is super girly and I would think she would like it.  It seemed about the right age but no where can I find on the product an age suggestion.  I had the paper doll thing.  I don't remember the doll much but I remember the paper clothes and the little folding flaps that held the clothes on to the dolls.  The magnetic thing seems like it would be less likely your doll will end up nakey!

Oh, I forgot about those.  I played with them when I was young.  I think that’s age appropriate.  I have a niece 6 and she has a Barbie who she loves to play with and dress up in different clothing.  I would not hesitate getting her one.

Thanks.  I never compared it to a Barbie.  That makes sense.  I have it ordered. :D

I think ages 6-7 would be perfectly appropriate for the type of dolls you are talking about. I still remember playing with the paper clothes that I used to put on dolls with the little flaps you are talking about. Magnetic clothes sound like a real advancement in the art of doll clothing to me.

I remember and yes, I think they are appropriate for that age group.

Good for you!  I’m sure she will love it, and love you for getting it for her.
