Just waiting for the phone to ring
« on: August 06, 2020, 01:58:29 pm »
I found another way to work from home.  I am finishing up certification.  At first I was excited about it, now I am nervous.  This isn't the first time that I have tried to run a home based business. This one seems to be a bit easier than what I had tried before.  Pretty sure that the kids understand to leave me alone during work hours.  That was a problem years ago.  I will be an inbound call rep.  I like that.  Not having to make dials.  Just wait for the phone to ring.

I worked in a call center for seven years and hated every year except for one when I wasn't on the phones.  I prefer to find work from home jobs that don't entail talking to anyone on the phone.  Good luck with that.

so far as it turns out the soft phone system keeps pausing my calls.  Trying to figure out why that is happening.

Talking to other people all day is horrible.  Being a telemarketer is the worst job that was ever created.  I tried that some years ago, but after doing the job for 1 day,  I had enough.  Doing this job as a primary has to be awful.  I hate talking to people.

I wish you all the best.  It's a good thing that you're O.K. being a phone person. I don't like the phone; never have.  I remember as a kid, when the landline phone would ring, I would try to run the other way.

My husband and I own our business.  I assist him but most of the assistance does not involve talking on the phone.

Hopefully the kids do know the importance of allowing you to work without interruptions.

You are running a home based business?  So you started your own business?  Or you are working for someone else as a customer service agent?

what is an inbound call rep. usually hate telemarketers sometimes answer just for a joke or if bored.

Sometimes people say things in ways to make it sound like it is more than it is. smh It sounds like a customer service agent that takes inbound calls.  Like when you call Amazon or your credit card company and somebody answers your call.  The majority of those people are working from home.  I have applied for a couple of positions like that and interviewed for one.  For whatever reason it has never worked out. Personally I would rather do the live chat.

Usually the only calls you make are calling customers back and they should expect your call.  Sad is even in these situations people will smart off when they answer the phone because they expect you to be a telemarketer.
