Insomnia
« on: August 18, 2020, 02:37:23 am »
I have never ever ever had insomnia but I have it now with a vengeance - been getting worse and worse tonight was the pinnacle slept 1 1/2 hours and finally gave up and got up at 4:44.  I have always been a person who could sleep for hours on end so I don't know what happened.  Do any of you guys have this issue?

Very seldom, I use natural calms about 3 times a month, and sleep longer and can go back to sleep.

IO have been having problems with insomnia too.  I just wish it would go away as quickly as it appeared.

I've had bouts of insomnia from time to time. For days or weeks on end, just staring at the ceiling every night. Lately though I've been having the opposite problem. I just want to sleep all the time. I've been going back to sleep after feeding the pets in the morning and sleeping for several more hours. I don't know what's wrong with me. I've been exercising and taking vitamins, but I still just want to sleep forever.

On occasion I will get a bout of insomnia.  It is sooo annoying.  During the day when I have tasks to complete it's great when I can think clearly and complete what I have to do.

But when that brain just refuses to shut down at night when the rest of me is shutting down, things get really messed up.

For me, sometimes I have to cut back or cut out the caffeine and add the herbal teas.  ( Naturally decaffeinated )

I also have insomnia on an almost daily basis.  I take Melatonin every few days and that helps somewhat, but I rarely sleep more than 5-6 hours and I wake up at least every hour during that time.  I think it's just part of getting old........

I have never had insomnia and I hope I never do.  I hate taking something to go to sleep.

I have insomnia bad too. I go to sleep at 4am-5am, wake up at 1230pm,130pm. Then other times I crash early around 1030pm-11pm and wake up around 4am..never ending cycle. I don't want to take RX sleep meds because of side effects so i take my clonazepam instead sometimes. My sleep schedule is messed up but one thing I don't due is force myself to stay awake. When my body tells me to sleep i sleep. I do consume caffeine 2x out the week at times but I try not to drink too much.

I have never had insomnia and I hope I never do. But here are some tips to help...

1 Wake up at the same time each day.
2 Eliminate alcohol and stimulants like nicotine and caffeine
3 Limit naps
4 Do not eat or drink right before going to bed

I have been known to fall asleep for 15 minutes, then wake up and lay there for 2-3 hours.  Its so frustrating.

Melatonin was going to be my suggestion, too.
Opinion: 1) a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter 2) belief stronger than impression and less strong than positive knowledge
This is the internet, learn to let people have opinions. And don't be so sensitive.  8)

Sometimes I feel I do have occasional insomnia. It has happened more since the covid 19 situation and I'm unemployed. I rarely had problems sleeping before.

Melatonin helps me fall asleep, but not stay asleep. Plus it gives me crazy dreams. I started taking chelated magnesium malate at night for achy bones and muscles after running, and I found out that it really helps me sleep through the night.
