school reinstated full time

So not sure if ready or not, kids go back to school full time on August 31, and apparently mask mandated so is the pandemic still as bad or what? Don't really get to see news much

The pandemic is far from over so do what you can to protect your family.

Delta variant is spreading....mostly among unvaccinated....some places are seeing rise in infections again and re-implementing mask mandates

We are going back to school full time also, but they must wear masks from k-12, weekly testing.  You can opt out if you want and continue with homeschooling.

Sending children back to school at this time is too soon.

The kids in my district go back on the 16th.  I have to go tomorrow to check them in and to make sure they have them enrolled as virtual only.

I agree; if my kids' school didn't still offer virtual I'd be enrolling them in K12.

The pandemic is far from over so do what you can to protect your family.

I wish it was over already. It looks like it's going to be around for along time though.

Because of the Delta variant the numbers are once again rising, even some people fully vaccinated are getting it.  In my 16 year old grandson's case he needs to be back in school because being at home and doing school work does not work for him because he is more interested in playing games than studying and doing his work.  Of course, I don't want him to go to school if it is not safe.

I believe the kids NEED to be back in school - with masks optional. If the kids or parents feel safer while wearing a mask - let them do that without being bullied or shamed for that decision. If the kids or parents feel that they are safe - especially if they are old enough to have been vaccinated (whether they chose to or not) and they commit to observing hygiene and social distancing protocols - they should be permitted in the school without a mask without being bullied or shamed for that decision.

This is the policy that our school is taking. They had a full 9 month in person school year last year (with mandatory masks along with the other safety protocols) and there were only a handful of COVID cases among the students and teachers. (Very likely that many/most of those infections occurred outside of the school setting). No outbreaks or massive death counts.

Over the summer I accepted an appointment onto that school board and I 100% support that revised policy in place for the start of this school year.

Ours were back last year with masks. This year not required to wear masks.
