Thankfully my mortgage has not been increased. I am so sorry for those who have had increases in their rent.

I am so happy we have paid off out home during the pandemic, the rent has gone up too much and to buy a house now-a-days is ridiculous. Seems like the business are trying to punish people that are not in the upper middle class.

Own a house in ca. Heard rents are going way up. Some landlords got took because of tenants who didnt pay during covid. Suppose their trying to catch up.

We rent from a friend, so not so much. She just raises whatever raises for her. However, everything else in the world is up. Food, gas, everything you buy, going to the movies.

It's insane because of our feckless leader. Sorry. I mean to show respect for leaders, but he makes it impossible. Every move he makes, every step he takes, every smile he fakes; I'll be watchin' him. He makes me ashamed of him mostly.  :monkey:

The liberals and the idiot in office doesn't care anything about any of us except getting the illegals to vote democratic. I try to have respect for our leaders, but seriously, this administration makes it impossible.

Rental costs are one reason the COLA is going to skyrocket in 2023!!  Over 140.00 more per month for most people on Social Security.  My Homeowners Ins went up due to material replacement costs skyrocketing!

If you're a landlord, you should try https://www.nyrentownsell.com/blog/landlord-sends-a-rent-increase-notice/ to raise the rent as little as possible. After all, your tenants are paying customers like any others, and it's not nice to raise prices on people who've already committed to buying from you. But every year your costs increase while your rent rolls around unchanged.

I just got a notice from the landlord and my rent will go up $50 a month starting August 1st which will make my rent $725 a month for a one bedroom one bath apartment.  I have been here for 2 years and when I first moved in it was $650.  I have put my name on a waiting list for another apartment where the rent is a lot cheaper and it will be a 2 bedroom l bath apartment, but there is a year waiting list.

Did anyone's Rent climb over the top this year?  I've been reading about 40-60% increases here where I live, and people being forced out of 10+ years rental history because of it.  Sad :sad1:.  My mortgage went up but that was the home Ins (Materials they say) increase.  That Cola we got went pretty fast, with food prices, rent, Medicare premiums and gas. (gasp, gas!! >:()

The only way your mortgage can or will increase is because it is an adjustable rate and not fixed.  Now if you are thinking rent, then yes the owner can increase your rent which is awful.

My mortgage went up, my property taxes went up so how much I have to pay into my escrow went up. So technically the part of my mortgage going to principle and interest hasn't changed. This housing market is crazy.

True, but when the taxes &  insurance increases, this makes the payment bigger.

As landlords, we haven't raised the rent. A 4 bedroom/2 bath house on 2 acres for $850 a month. We should be getting more, but he said he would buy in another 11 months. So, we gave him a good deal. Thankfully it covers our house payment and taxes. we refinanced our own mortgage to pay it off sooner. Plus, we try to pay extra when we can.

I don't pay rent, but I do pay a fixed rate mortgage in which the interest rate is very, very low.
