No. There is no substantive evidence to support such a 'belief'.

I firmly believe in God, but I have a few issues with modern day religion. I'm tired of people forcing their religious views on each other. In my opinion, all that matters is that you have faith in something that helps get you through each and every day positively.

I would never deny the fact that God is indeed real.
That would be a belief, not a "fact". Facts are supported by substantive evidence, while a belief in something which lacks substantive evidence are not factual evidence of the existence of what is 'believed in'.
Since the explicit claim was made that "the fact that God is indeed real", the burden of proof, (providing substantive evidence to support such an extraordinary claim), rests upon the claimant. Call or fold?

Nonsense, there's no evidence to support such a belief. It's merely an opinion of "faith", (which lacks supporting evidence because of equivalency).

NO!!!!!!!! God is merely a man made idea used to frighten god fearing believers!
To me if there's a god, god wouldn't put so many conditions on how we humans should live or behave. Sometimes the writings of the word of god is too contradictory, too racist, too much of women treated like cattle instead of an equal to men!
To me if god was so perfect, why couldn't god create perfect people, no wars, famine, hate, anger....no sickness, no death....
To me god would not only create us in his image but also give us all the gifts that god himself posses.
It's like god is using used materials to create humans! So, no god just flawed trying to scare the masses in order for them to control the masses?

Falcon and Tan are out numbered, I soooooo believe in God and those who dont are TOTAL MORONS!!...ya ya start with your crap now...again needing that attention...I know the drill, it's freedom of speech and you can comment what ever you want yardy yardy yardy....but STOP trying to convince people who DO believe, that there isnt a God because I myself could give 2 craps what you believe or NOT...here goes now..LOOOOOOOOSERS!!....I have just as much right to say what I feel too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...comeon pipe in now but it's falling on deaf ears!!...done with this topic

I complete agree. Live and let live. I believe in God and if you don't thats okay. I wont try to convert anyone or condem anyone for there beliefs. You should except people as they are.

Falcon and Tan are out numbered ...
An appeal to the majority is a logical fallacy since sheer mumbers do not confer accuracy upon a specious belief.
I soooooo believe in God and those who dont are TOTAL MORONS!!...
Seriously? You want to start right off with an irrational insult? Fine. A belief in something for which there is zero evidence is not demonstrative of an ability to reason logically. Since "total morons" are generally unable to employ rational critical thinking skills, such a designation is inapplicable to those who can.
ya ya start with your crap now...again needing that attention...I know the drill, it's freedom of speech and you can comment what ever you want yardy yardy yardy...
Obviously you're the one who wanted such attention by posting your "total moron" trolling remark.
...STOP trying to convince people who DO believe, that there isnt a God ...here goes now..LOOOOOOOOSERS!!....
The presentation of viewpoints opposing blind faith is not intended to convey insight upon the sightless, nor to 'proselytize' reason to those unable to reason. Instead, it's to let others who have not been assimulated by the xtian "Borg" know that they're not alone in opposing religious tyranny.

Yes, you do have the "right" to spew religious dogma, specious opinions and religious propaganda - just as others have the same "right" to oppose such. It's also your option to 'spew-and-run' as you've indicated.

Cannibals are people too. Should they be accepted or 'excepted' as they are? Why should those who hold the same religious beliefs as those who fly aircraft into buildings full of other people, (or, held such 'festivities' as the Crusades, Inquistions and other atrocities), be acceptible? There's no particular requirement to do so and at least some sense of moral imperatives not to.

Regarding your remark I highlighted and underlined, are you insinuating those who fly aircraft into buildings full of other people hold the same religious beliefs as myself or many others in here? If you are, then let me clarify adamantly that my belief in Jesus is nothing of the same beliefs of those evil people. If you are, then I'm asking respectfully that you retract that "assumption" that you are making, because it is absolutely not true. In my religious beliefs, we do not do stuff like that nor believe in supporting anything like that. That is an awfully bold statement, if you are implying that, that is very wrong and dangerously near the edge of inflammation of believers who want nothing of what those evil people did/done/do. Thank you in advance, unless I am wrong. It's the way it is written with it's clear implications coming through.

I would like to say that I do not, as a Christian, agree with name-calling on either side. I've been sparring with falcon9 about respect for the other side's beliefs, while some come in and call him names. I just want to say I'm not calling you that nor agreeing with that, falcon9. Some get fed up and have to release their frustration. Everyone's human, too, and none of us are perfect and calm all of the time. Our actions, however, speak louder than words, yet on the internet, the words are the actions, because they're what we "see." I'm totally for respect, as much as possible, between both sides.

Regarding your remark I highlighted and underlined, are you insinuating those who fly aircraft into buildings full of other people hold the same religious beliefs as myself or many others in here?
When you cherry-pick something out of context, you're more likely to draw an incorrect conclusion. That context remains quoted above as '(or, held such 'festivities' as the Crusades, Inquistions and other atrocities)'. That means I don't accept the religious beliefs of those who would and have done such things, (those people were also self-designated xtians). The other terrorists were self-designated muslims.
If you are, then let me clarify adamantly that my belief in Jesus is nothing of the same beliefs of those evil people.
The religion is the same, the believers are different people. Now is a good time to recall what was stated about separating the religious belief from the believer. For instance, I don't regard as all muslims as terrorists however, I do recognise that the terrorists regarded themselves as muslims, (and that some otehr muslims also wished to understandaably distance themselves from their religious 'brethren'). In the same way, I don't regard all xtians as supporters of the Crusades or Inquistions, (though some probably are, as far as the underlying commonality in religious beliefs goes).
See the above; staying within context can be more useful than jumping to conclusions.

I do not simply because people who try to prove the Bible as fact always refer to the Bible for evidence. Where is the evidence that anything in that book is real? I could write anything but the fact that it is on paper would not make it a true statement.

Precisely so, David. That's called 'self-referential' when the reference sourced is claimed as the evidence for itself in such a circular manner. Such irrationality has rarely provided an obstacle for believers in an inerrant "bible".
"The Bible as we have it contains elements that are scientifically incorrect or even morally repugnant. No amount of 'explaining away' can convince us that such passages are the product of Divine Wisdom."

I agree with you. I do believe in God but I am skepitcal about how much of the bible is Gods Word and how much man has tweeked it to soot his own needs. And there is really no evidence to back up what they say.

For those who DONT believe, just curious, how is life treating you? be honest :dontknow:

Well, I hope you're not (though I know you are) going where I think you're going with this. Even us moron non-believers are smart enough to know that any argument made from the question above is pretty much swiss cheese. Also, even if my life was complete and utter crap, Bill Gates is doing pretty damn well for himself...you know, him being a moron and all.
Anyway, I left my job 3 years ago but the door is still open for me to go back. Every time I think I'll go back, I fall backwards into money. I could be doing a lot better, but that's pretty much in my control.
As for us being morons, just curious, you can say that with a straight face when you believe in an invisible man in the sky with absolutely zero proof? If you're a Christian, your entire religion is based on the belief that an immortal being somehow died by sacrificing himself to himself to appease himself. You believe that an immortal being can die and its death can be called a sacrifice even though he knew he was coming back 3 days later and therefore didn't give up anything at all....and we're the morons?
To answer the question by the way, no, I don't believe in god :angel11:
-
By faith, everyone believes in "something." I believe in God, the trinity, and Jesus Christ.

yes i do believe in God. he has giving me a great family a great boyfriend and a wonderful baby on the way.....my boyfriend of 3 years is the one that taught me about God i honestly didnt know anything about it i grew up around people that didnt go to church or talk about god or anything and now i do know things thanks to my boyfriend i dont know alot but im still learning.

Yet, such beliefs rest upon "faith", (which rests upon no substantive evidentiary basis). As long as you're okay with such blind faith, there will be those who aren't.

The same could be said of any "faith" so long as such a belief remains private. As soon as the believer chooses to make it public, any public comments/remarks/agreement/dissent is anyone else's choice and not the business of religious would-be censors.

When you cross the line into disrespect, it is indeed, none of your business. Once again, your dissenting remarks are more than that - they are just plain rude and thoughtless.

Says you. While of course maintaining that INITIAL presumptuously-rude and disrespectful, (of the beliefs/non-beliefs of others), religious proselytization is somehow 'not' rude, presumptuous, sanctimonious and disrespectful of others. Your continued hypocrisy and disingenuous claims of respect for other beliefs/philosophies has already been noted. Have you ever considered that these are responses in reply to rude, presumptuous, sanctimonious and disrespectful initial posts made by religious adherents who do not perceive them as such precisely due to their religion-colored glasses? Of course not, otherwise you realize that the religious adherents already crossed that line by posting such in the first place and not keep beating that same poor horse.

Again, the INITIAL postings of topics by posters, whether religious or nonreligious, are NOT presumptuously rude and disrespectful. They may go against the grain of your beliefs and/or non-beliefs, but it's what you do with your own actions with those posts that make for the direction they end up going in. And I'm not speaking of you personally, but with anyone who goes in and disrespects someone's post just because that post is hated or not agreeable with their thoughts.
Christians seem to be always held to a "perfect and higher" standard, when actually, Christians are just human like everyone else. Everyone, whether a believer or not, of different color, of difference levels of standing in society, of being a parent or not, etc., should all be held to a higher standard of respect to anyone else whenever warranted, expected, and needed. We definitely aren't going to all agree with each others' thoughts and opinions, but we should go out of our way to respect other peoples' thoughts and opinions, unless we have been given a reason or invite to debate or discuss such issues at length, and even then, we should be respectful in our attitudes and speech toward one another.

not really just cause everyone around tries to force religion now adays like people knocking at your door saying your going to hell if you dont believe :P
